My ideal school would have ample opportunity for students to engage in authentic interactions with one another. Currently I feel like my school is very curriculum/content driven, leaving out other aspects of teaching the whole child. In order for schools to be equitable we must first know our students, and they need to know one another.

Staff should also be well informed about supporting students of various backgrounds and in various situations. Our school is shifting towards a more restorative mindset, but many are stuck in more "old school" ways of thinking.

 Staff that is more representative/diverse would also be a positive change. Currently  over 60% of students are Black, but we only have 4 or 5 teachers who are. We also have many languages spoken but few teachers who speak student home languages.

No more "carrots" and "sticks" - not a fan of PBIS! Super school should also involve physical fitness and health education.  Kids need opportunities to stand up, chase each other, and learn how to take care of their bodies.  
Finally, super school is financially viable.  If it's private, it needs endowment so that anyone can attend, not just the super rich.  If it's public, it is not tied to property taxes and has the same resources as any other school.
And, while we're in dreamworld, they might as well serve Chick-Fil-A for lunch every day too.

Text books had limited diversity and superficial themes of diversity in the curriculum. So much has changed and I'm so glad it has.
If I could dream big...
Additional funding and support for students with mental health issues  and trauma. This includes additional training for teachers. Themes of empathy and emotional competence  built into the curriculum. Students aren't given enough time to emote and reflect on those emotions and what they mean. We need to teach this skill just as much as we need to teach phonics or math. My ideal school looks like a place of transparency and cultural representation. Ideally, it would be a many melting pot where labels have disintegrated along with the need for curriculum that is not culturally relevant or concerting. I would love to see standardized testing go away as well and education come to the helm of being authentic(devoid of common core over everything).

How is it different from what there is now?
I would say my ideas maybe extremely different from where we are now. May be a bit radical for the school system.

What do you believe are critical components to achieving equity in schools?
I would say equity would come when you start looking at people as equal until then there is not equity.
