<title>Importance: demonstrated what not to do when america created the constitution. Allowed americans to realize that despite their fears of a potential monarchy, they would need to allow their government some powers in order for the united states to function as anything other than a group of vaguely related allies.Weaknesses: government was extremely weak, decentralized, and somewhat vague, having very few clearly defined powers. Defined itself as a “league of friendship” rather than a coherent government.Solution: A strong central government is ok when checks and balances are in play, preventing a monarchy or dictatorship. This allows it to have more powers without oppressing the governed.</title>

<title>1. it was a precursor to the constitution we use today2. the federal government was too weak under the articles to enforce their laws and therefore had no power3. the collapse of the articles due to the weakness of the federal government could have been avoided by giving the federal government more power in the first place to actually enforce their laws</title>
