Margaret Sanger did not like the idea of women not having a say in birth control and pregnancy. She thought that if women did not want to give birth they should have the choice of saying no because births in the early 1900's were more painful and risky. Margaret Sanger said "No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother." She wrote an article in the newspaper talking about women's rights to choose whether she wants to give birth or not. She got hate from her views and was bound to go to jail but she fled to England where she continued women's rights movements.
