In Húsið we have kids and young people from the ages of 10 to 18. Our motivation is to be something for those who are not active in any leisure activity and create a community for them - although Húsið is for everybody.

We want to give them a sense of belonging and good experiences, help them deal with everyday bumps on the road: heartache, school issues, parent issues and everything else that comes with being a young person today.

In the future we hope to find a way to reach the young people who we know are out there but who we never see or hear from

I am also a board member of Ungdomsringen, the national umbrelly organisation of all the youth clubs in Denmark. We have some activities with the young people in the board about democracy and we are interested in a collaboration with the commonwealth.

My name is Morten, and I work as Head of Office at the Federation of the Nordic Associations (Foreningerne Nordens Forbund – FNF) in Copenhagen. I have been with the organization for more than ten years and originally come from the Danish minority in Germany.

FNF is the umbrella organization for the national Norden Associations (Foreningen Norden). This means that we are represented in all the Nordic countries and self-governing territories. We run a wide range of projects on behalf of our member organizations. We currently have 22 employees working on projects related to education, language, culture, the labour market, and civil preparedness – all with a Nordic perspective.

At the moment, we host six European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteers, and we also have extensive experience with the Erasmus+ programme. Our target groups are twofold: Nordic young people aged 13–35 and the "not-so-young" generation aged 50 and above.

I have been involved with Erasmus since 2000, first as a participant and later as a project planner and coordinator. What I enjoy most is building relationships and bringing people together. I strongly believe in engaging young people on equal terms, listening to their perspectives, and avoiding a patronising approach.

One of my biggest ambitions is to work even more closely with Rigsfælleskabet and the wider North Atlantic region (Vestnorden). I believe there is a great need for young people across the Nordic region to better understand what is happening in Greenland and the other West Nordic countries. I often meet young people who feel uncertain or worried about global developments, including the American involvement in Greenland. That is why I believe we need to build stronger bridges to Greenland, as well as to Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

My dream is to create long-term partnerships between young people across the Nordic region, where travel costs are no longer a barrier to meaningful cooperation, friendships, and mutual understanding.

I work as Deputy Head of UngHillerød, a municipal youth organisation that offers both youth clubs and leisure activities for young people aged 13 to 17 in Hillerød Municipality. Before that, I worked as an independent youth coach, which is why I am particularly passionate about creating opportunities that strengthen young people's social and personal competences. Most recently, this has included a large Erasmus+ small scale project focused on Girl Power and female empowerment.

UngHillerød holds an Erasmus+ accreditation in the youth field, and we have ambitious plans to expand our international activities in the coming years. We hope to organise even more exchanges for both young people and staff—particularly within the Nordic region—with a strong focus on inclusion, democracy and youth participation.

We already have many exciting initiatives underway, but my personal dreams for the future are to become involved in the European Solidarity Corps and to launch a large-scale partnership project that promotes mutual understanding and constructive dialogue on a broader level—instead of conflict, division and hostility.

I am looking very much forward to meeting all of you, learning together, and being inspired by your experiences and ideas. 🥳

I’m an educational leader for after-school and youth clubs in the northern part of Roskilde Municipality, Denmark.

At the club, we host children aged 10–14 every afternoon and young people aged 13–18 two to three evenings a week. In our daily work, we focus on the well-being and of the children and young people, being parts of good communities, youth participation, and everyday democracy. We also work on youth to youth information outreach—specifically regarding the "Digitalister"(Digitalist, talking about online life and issues) and "Sexualister"(Sexualists, giving information about birth control, diseases, teenage development) initiatives.

I have traveled with young people to Nuuk and Ilulissat to collaborate with local clubs on these projects. During the autumn break, we will be traveling with young people to Narsaq to work on everyday democracy. We plan to hold workshops with the youth covering everyday democracy, well-being, and youth life—exploring how to work with youth councils, how to move from idea to action, and how to strengthen local youth councils.

We are very open to new opportunities and would love to expand our collaboration and develop new projects covering more topics and involving more countries—ideally focusing on nature, culture, democracy and sustainability with young people aged 13–18.

A couple of years ago, I qualified as an outdoor guide, a role I also utilize in my work.

3i1 is a (Boligsocial Helhedsplan) Located in the eastern part of Esbjerg. and I work for the housing associations in the area.

A little bit about me: I’m a hunter. I love being out in nature, hiking, and pushing myself. I also spend a fair amount of my free time working out.

My work involves both teaching outdoor activities and coordinating efforts to improve youth life in the social housing area.

My dream for our work is, to give some of the most disadvantaged young people the opportunity to travel, and better understand the Europe they will grow up in.

In our residential areas, there are many vulnerable Greenlanders; consequently, many of our young people hold strong prejudices against Greenlanders in general. I would really like to show them, that Greenlanders are so much more than just vulnerable individuals. and show them a proud, and magnificent culture

I have two grown-up children, and we never say no to a good road trip, a nature adventure, or a delicious piece of cake.

I work as an Education Consultant at a vocational college. I am highly committed to helping young people navigate both the national and international labour market, as I also serve as an International Coordinator. I am trained as a chef, visual merchandiser, and educational counsellor (among other things), and my diverse educational background enables me to relate to young people when they are uncertain about their future paths.

I am deeply inspired by watching children and young people grow and develop—not only in school, but especially when they are given the opportunity to pursue something they are truly passionate about. Seeing them succeed and overcome challenges in their own unique way is incredibly rewarding.

My ambition for the future is to make the world feel smaller—not by reducing it, but by encouraging young people to learn from and experience each other across borders. I hope to inspire greater understanding of the different cultures we carry with us, while also enabling us to help one another work towards a more sustainable future.

 I have four kids, a dog, a cat, and a busy schedule :)

I love going on adventures, where my innate impulsiveness and curiosity come in handy, seeing and learning something new, preferably in a non-formal educational environment and out in nature. 

But I also love to relax in between reading good books, knitting, listening to music, hugging trees, dancing around beerfoot by a fireplace in the forest, and drinking a good cup of cacao with dear friends.

I am a social worker specialized in nature/adventure therapy, a mountain guide, a ranger, a yoga teacher, and all kinds of things. And this winter I will be studying Creative Sustainability and Outdoor Education at the University of Iceland.

I work on one hand as an outdoor activity trainer and the head master of Náttúruskólinn (Nature School) https://www.natturuskolinn.is/, which is an NGO working both by providing outdoor activities and nature-based teachings to school groups, but also offering after-school activities and specific programs for children in minority groups (for example, children with special needs or with an immigrant background) 

On the other hand, I work in a Youth House for 16-25-year-olds run by the municipality of Múlaþing, focusing on creative and empowering activities for youth.

My motivation, I think, is basically making the world a bit better and brighter place for us all, especially young people who might, for all kinds of reasons, feel a bit lost, out of place, and confused. And I find creating a safe space for connection and togetherness with oneself, one's community, and nature is a precious way to conquer all that.

My target groups are all kinds of teenagers and young people. As I have two,,work-hats" on and am living and working in a rural area where one has to be resourceful and creative to build opportunities for all kinds of youth to shine, my projects of interest are quite diverse, for example:

Project for youth based on using nature and outdoor activities to discover oneself a bit better, finding new strengths, empowerment, and connections through activities and togetherness in nature.

I also would love to make a project for youngsters where we look more closely into our Scandinavian culture, seeing how our ancestors lived, despite long winters, darkness, cold and unpredictable weathers, in a respectful community with nature having contentment, sustainability, resilience and deep spiritual connection as a guiding light, and what wisdom we can draw from that into the world we are facing today with all our artificial needs, disconnection from the natural world, endless screen time, loneliness, and climate anxiety.

All kinds of projects using art and all sorts of creative ways to activate and empower youngsters are of interest to me. The Youth House is now in the middle of a wonderful project with a Finnish NGO, Rock Camp, using heavy metal music to engage and connect young people from all kinds of backgrounds, and I would love opportunities to explore similar work with other art forms - theater, visual art, storytelling, songwriting, and so on.

In this program I am developing processes and platforms to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion where students with foreign backgrounds (specially immigrants and refugees) become able to participate more actively and integrally in their studies and social life, with confidence, empathy and empowerment. We work with three target groups: teens who are struggling to finish upper secondary school (16-20 years old) and continue the educational ladder; current students at the university (20-50 years old); and adult migrants who are seeking support for improving their qualifications and social capital (18-70+).

Additionally I am an international trainer and facilitator for the Youth program of Erasmus+ and I am part of the trainers’ pool for the Icelandic NA for the ESC program, with a focus on intercultural awareness, nature connection, integral wellbeing and Ecocentric living. In this context, I have co-founded a small NGO which aims to promote education in service of life: https://fontanabria.com/

My inspirations are my children and the  children of the world who deserve to live fulfilling lives, my love and gratitude towards life for the opportunity and privilege to exist, and the need to work together for the regeneration of human cultures and worldviews towards ecocentrism, which is the understanding that “life on Earth” (Eco) must be the center of human agency and collective responsibility.

My dream for the future is that we humans wake up, sober up and grow up to our Earthian responsibilities for the benefit of life and future generations.

Some topics that I wish to work towards are: Earth democracy and citizenship; intergenerational solidarity and friendship; Ecocentric living and conviviality; Intercultural ecopoetics and ecologies of belonging; Rights of Nature and Ecocentric rule of law; human ecology and spiritual ecology; integral human development and mentoring; nature connection and wellbeing; ecological storytelling, forum theatre and embodiment practices.

I work in Nuuk, our capital and, in my - admittedly - biased opinion, the most beautifully situated small city in the world. With just over 21,000 residents, we have many of the conveniences—and a few of the frustrations—of a much larger city, while still keeping the warmth, charm of a small town. Were tightly knit her in Greenland as you may have noticed during the whole Trump / block of ice / lemme buy ya - debacle surrounding us.

NIIK represents people with all types of disabilities, including developmental, physical, intellectual, psychological, and emotional disabilities.

We work with people of all ages—from birth to the end of life—and also support their families and loved ones.

To put it mildly, Greenland is still struggling to provide the standard of public support and services for people with disabilities that you would expect from a modern welfare state. The United Nations has reached the same conclusion.

In NIIK we do struggle with recruiting, volunteers - and so does our member organizations.

Our work spans advocacy, policy development, legislative reform, projects, awareness campaigns, and day-to-day support. We are not afraid to ruffle a few feathers when necessary, while also striving to be a trusted source of guidance and support for people with disabilities and their families. At the same time, we work continuously to secure funding for the resources, projects, and events our community needs.

We are currently running a pilot youth project that we hope will receive permanent funding and grow into a nationwide initiative. It’s aim is to support young people with disabilities as they navigate education, employment, independence, and the many choices that shape adult life.

Our overall work encompasses a wide range of social, economic, legal, therapeutic, psychological, and practical matters, as well as data collection and community outreach, serving people with disabilities of all ages, their families, and the professionals who support them.

We have requests for support and advocacy for children that we’re not currently able to accommodate, especially in regards to being placed in out-of-home care, as well as hearing and seeing disabilities, psychiatric and accessibilty issues, school, education, assistive devices, assistive technology, social awareness in child care, sparetime inclusion with friends and activities too.

My dream scenario would be to get a lot of funding, and then 1. Build a larger team of communication and advocacy  specialists—something that is particularly challenging in Greenland’s cultural context, and 2. To secure sufficient funding expand our work across the entire country, consistently.

With those resources, we could travel from coast to coast to identify and reach every person with a disability, help organize them into advocacy and peer support networks, expand NIIK by 5–8 additional staff members, and collect the data needed to strengthen our work and influence policy.

We could establish programs for every child, young person, and adult with a disability, while building resource network for therapy, legal, and project workers to ensure our members always have access to the support they need.

Finally, I would establish a nationwide network of trained lay advocates to support people with disabilities and their families whenever they interact with public authorities and the social or healthcare systems. That would be my dream for work.

Personally, I’m 45 years old and a passionate advocate for children’s rights, youth, the environment, and social equality. Somewhere along the way, I unintentionally became a “Greenland is not for sale” activist.

Before joining NIIK, I served as a member of Parliament, and earlier on I worked as an official of our government as an advisor and personal secretary to the Minister of Finance, and the Minister for Education, Research and Nordic Cooperation. Also have worked as a legal secretary in a law firm, a youth journalist and activist for foster kids.

I’m educated as a project and IT project manager and have completed additional training in employment law, leadership, speech presentation,- and writing, social media influence, political campaigning, segmenting, communication, and some marketing. I wanted to create space and time for my family as it came along, so here I am. Working with disability is such meaningful work, and I love it.

I can’t wait for you to visit Greenland. You’re more than welcome to ask me about our beautiful country. I love sharing our culture, our history, and spectacular nature, as in my spare time I’m a bit of a Greenlandic history / facts nerd. I’ve always been a strong supporter of Greenland, Denmark and the Faroe Islands staying together, and still am.

I am 37 years old and live here in lovely and colorful Nuuk. I love to pack good lunch and eat out in the wild with my boyfriend and our son (who’s going to be big brother in January).

 I studied Cultural and Social History at Ilisimatusarfik, the only university in Greenland. After completing my degree, I worked as a high school teacher, teaching history and cultural studies.

Even though my big interest in culture and history in the arctic, I’ve turned my path into sexual health a year ago.

I work at Paarisa, a department within the Government of Greenland. We are responsible for health promotion and prevention initiatives across Greenland. We work in different teams, such as parent preparation, suicide prevention, sexual health etc.

I am so lucky to work with young people as a target group, because it’s where all the fun is!

But it does not mean it’s easy, because we have a huge problem with high numbers of abortions and STD’s.

So, my dream of the future is that young people’s knowledge about sexual health is high enough to decrease the high number of abortions and STD’s. There is a lot of work within, because we must include such things as mental health and confidence and so on.

The future is bright, but there is still hard work ahead.

I work in the Danish Erasmus+ office where I am managing projects under the umbrella of 'youth participation activities', 'DiscoverEU Inclusion' and 'solidarity projects'. I love helping youth organisations start up new projects and I look so much forward to learn more about your fantastic work with young people.

In my spare time, I am active in a small community garden, and earlier I have worked voluntarily as a gymnastics coach for pre-school children, a scout leader for school children, and head of a local organic food cooperative. Next step is (hopefully!) to establish a community garden at my kids' school this fall.

I was in Nuuk last fall and feel so honored to be able to visit Greenland once again:-).

I work at Hringsjá Vocational Education and Rehabilitation Centre as a special education teacher, project manager for international projects, and social media coordinator. I have several years of education and experience in the arts, which bring creativity and new perspectives into my work.

Hringsjá is a centre that supports adults who need guidance and support to continue their education, prepare for employment, or strengthen their skills for the future. Our participants come from diverse backgrounds and may face different challenges related to health, education, employment, or learning. What inspires me most is seeing people recognize their strengths, build confidence, and take steps towards a more fulfilling future.

I believe in the power of creativity and human connection to create positive change. I am particularly interested in projects focusing on mental well-being, inclusion, life skills, employability, active citizenship, and social participation. With my background in the arts and my experience in acting and creative expression, I explore how creativity, storytelling, and communication can empower individuals, build confidence, and contribute to more inclusive communities.

I work a lot for Náttúruskólinn (the nature school), an NGO offering outdoor activities and nature based learning to school groups/teachers as well as other youth programs. I also work for Vegahúsið, a youth house for 16-25 year olds in the municipality of Múlaþing. There I mostly offer space for games and music but also whatever comes to our minds!

My motivation for working with youth is in short to create a safe and fun way for young people to get out of their comfort zone and explore.

My name is Salvör, I’m a PhD student in medical life science and my main hobbies are sports (especially running), baking and knitting👵🏼

I’m the Vice President of the Icelandic Red Cross Youth Council. I’ve been volunteering with the Red Cross for almost a decade now but we only recently got the youth council reinstated !

Through the Youth Council, I work with and for young volunteers, with a focus on increasing youth participation, creating opportunities for young people to get involved, and making sure young voices are heard within the organisation.

What I love most about youth work is seeing what happens when young people are given the space and trust to take the lead. Young people have so many ideas and perspectives to bring to the table, and I think the best youth work is something we create with young people rather than simply for them.

Looking ahead, we would love to develop an international youth exchange between young Red Cross volunteers across the Nordic region, bringing together volunteering, intercultural exchange, outdoor activities and topics such as mental wellbeing and youth participation. It would be amazing to give young people from Iceland, Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands the opportunity to meet, learn from each other and create something together 🇮🇸🇩🇰🇬🇱🇫🇴

I am Monique, a Project Manager at the UNICEF office in Greenland.

Our office runs a collaboration between UNICEF Denmark and Naalakkersuisut called Nakuusa – our flagship program. Under it, we run several projects, including the Children's Summit, held every year to bring children from across Greenland together with politicians for workshops on empowerment, societal change, and youth advocacy.

We also support schools on children's rights, and work directly with children themselves.

Our work has a broad scope, reaching children, youth, parents, politicians, and society as a whole. There is so much meaning in supporting young people toward agency and advocacy – it's what makes me proud to go to work every day, and that sense of purpose runs through our office culture among colleagues.

Looking ahead, this is also where my dreams for the future lie. Global UNICEF already has many initiatives I hope we can bring closer to home – particularly to help address the challenges that social media and AI pose for our youth. I also dream of seeing a national alcohol policy become a reality in Greenland, as one more concrete step toward protecting children and strengthening communities.

Here is a little bit about me. My name is Anders, I am 56 years old, and I live with my family on the island of Tåsinge in the South Funen Archipelago in Denmark.

I work as Deputy Head of Svendborg Youth School, a cultural and leisure institution for all young people aged 13–19 in Svendborg Municipality. At the youth school, we offer a wide range of free leisure activities after school hours. In addition, we work on various projects focusing on young people’s well-being, involuntary school absenteeism, democratic participation and education choices.

At Svendborg Youth School, we place a strong emphasis on internationalisation and have been involved in Erasmus+ for the past 20 years. We have held an Erasmus+ accreditation since 2022, which we have used to organise conferences, youth exchanges and study visits for staff, politicians and other stakeholders.

We are very keen to use our accreditation to strengthen Nordic cooperation among young people from Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Nordic cooperation and a greater mutual understanding of one another have never been more important, and I believe that Erasmus+ cooperation can play a very important role in this.

I am really looking forward to meeting all of you and hopefully returning home with new contacts, fresh inspiration and new ideas. And, of course, a long-held dream of mine is finally coming true: getting the opportunity to experience Nuuk and Greenland.

AFS Interkultur is a partner of the worldwide youth exchange organisation American Field Service (AFS), which is represented in more than 55 countries around the world. Our programmes are aimed at teenagers aged 15 to 18 who go on high school exchanges as well as young adults over 18 who either study abroad or take part in voluntary work. Since 1997, we have been very active in the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+ programmes and we currently host four ESC volunteers in our office. 

What inspires me most about working with young people is the opportunity to build bridges between different cultures. I believe that when young people get the chance to explore the world, experience new traditions and reflect on their own cultural roots, it opens their minds. It builds empathy and helps break down stereotypes. One of my dreams is to create projects that will strengthen intercultural understanding within Rigsfællesskabet.

After almost 20 years in this role, I still love my job :-) I enjoy supporting and following the development of the young and see them grow during their time in Denmark, and I enjoy working closely with our national and international partners, as well as supporting our volunteers and host families in Denmark.

Dansk ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange) is an independent, non-profit exchange organisation founded in 1972. We offer international volunteering opportunities for young people aged 18 to 30. Our mission is not to make a profit but to create meaningful intercultural learning experiences. Much of our work is made possible by dedicated volunteers, many of whom are former participants, host families, or people with a passion for cultural exchange.

We are part of the international ICYE Federation, with member organisations in more than 40 countries across Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and North, Central, and South America. Every year, we send 20-30 young Danes abroad while welcoming approximately 50 international volunteers to Denmark through our partner organisations.

By participating in this network event, I hope to gain new inspiration and knowledge, strengthen existing partnerships, establish new ones, and create even more opportunities for young people to volunteer internationally through future cooperation. I look very much forward to meeting you all soon.

RECOVERY BULLS is a nationwide voluntary social sports community for people from the age of 16 in vulnerable and disadvantaged life situations. This includes people affected by addiction, crime, homelessness, loneliness, poverty, mental health challenges or other complex life situations. Many of the people we meet do not feel that they have a real place in traditional sports clubs or other established communities.

My main focus is supporting and developing our work nationally across Denmark, including projects, partnerships and new initiatives.

A big part of our approach is to use sport as a social lever. We want to lower the threshold into a community. You do not have to explain your whole life, have everything figured out or be good at a sport. You can simply show up and take part. But the community is also a starting point for something more. Through relationships, small successes and gradually taking responsibility, people can discover new strengths and possibilities. The community can become a bridge to the next step in life – whether that is becoming a volunteer, taking on new responsibilities, entering new communities, education, work or simply gaining the confidence to move forward.

What inspires me in working with young people is my belief in change. I believe that people – including young people – can find new paths in life when they experience being part of a community that recognises their value, gives them something meaningful to contribute to and supports them in developing their personal, social and sporting skills.

I believe that when people experience that they matter to others, that they can succeed at something and that their contribution has value, it can change the way they see themselves and the possibilities they see ahead of them.

If I could dream up a future youth project, I would love to create an international project where young people from different backgrounds meet through sports, outdoor activities and shared experiences.

I would like it to be a place where the threshold for joining is low, but where there are also opportunities to grow, take responsibility, contribute to the community and discover new paths. A project that does not decide what the next step should be for young people, but creates the relationships, experiences and opportunities that can make the next step possible.

For me, good youth work is about creating a place to belong, an opportunity to move forward and a bridge further into life and society.

I work mostly on KA2 projects, that are the bigger international projects in the programme and then TCA which stands for Training and Cooperation Activities. This event that we are all taking part in is a TCA activity. I have been working for the National Agency for 5 years with two maternity breaks as I have two sons 1 & 3 year old so life is busy but full of fun! I love to travel, go to the pool and enjoy the sun in my face the few days it peaks through the clouds in Iceland.

Hi! My name is Melissa, and I live in Nuuk, Greenland.
I am a teacher and an active volunteer in youth and sports activities in Nuuk. A big part of both my professional and voluntary work is about creating opportunities, communities and new experiences for children and young people.

I work as a teacher at Nuuk Internationale Friskole (NIF), and I am also actively involved in Nuuk Gymnastikforening, a local gymnastics association with around 350 members and many volunteer coaches and young assistant coaches.

At NIF, I teach children and young people in different subjects, including science and technology. I am especially interested in technology, digital creativity and project-based learning, and I work with activities such as coding, robotics, AI and FIRST LEGO League.

In Nuuk Gymnastikforening, I work with children and young people through gymnastics, movement and voluntary youth work. An important part of our work is not only gymnastics itself, but also creating strong communities and giving young people the opportunity to take responsibility and develop as young leaders and coaches.

What inspires me most is seeing young people discover that they are capable of more than they thought. I believe that learning happens when young people are given responsibility, meet new people, experience new places and become part of a community where they feel that they matter.

I am also very inspired by bringing young people from Greenland into contact with young people and communities outside Greenland.

I would love to develop more international youth projects connecting young people in Greenland with young people in other countries.

My dream is to create projects where young people can travel, meet across cultures, learn from each other and work together on topics such as technology, sustainability, sport and culture.

I would especially like to create opportunities for young people who might not normally have the chance to participate in international exchanges. For me, youth work is about opening doors – and helping young people discover both the world and their own possibilities.

Last year after a decade of working as a social worker with migrants and refugees and project manager, I decided to take a leap and change careers.

Currently, I am working at the treatment center for young drug addicts and find this job both challenging and rewarding. I got closer to the vulnerability and uncertainty of youth, and it gave me a new drive for the life. As the treatment center is relatively new, there is significant potential for further development, especially in terms of educational programs designed specifically for this group og young people.

I embrace collaboration as a way to improve and innovate, which is why I signed for this event in Nuuk.

We have about 32 thousand people in our town, 18 preschools, 10 elementary schools and two secondary schools. I work at the town hall in the sports and public health department, very close with the leisure department. Working now deep in "the system" I'm fascinated by how political funding and policy work can pretty directly decide who gets support in their youth or not.

I'm a strong believer in international cooperation and especially in our neighborhood of the world, so I'm looking for contacts for us to connect with. Right now the topics in my work are civil engagement, mental health and resilience, creative independent projects and outreach work.

I work mostly with projects involving 13-16 year olds and 16-25 year olds, we also have a diverse group of professional youth workers always looking for new ways to improve and grow. I also have a few town hall specialists who would be interested in deepening their knowledge of youth work.

I myself live in Reykjavík and always have, Nuuk has been on my travel list for a long time and I'm excited to get to spend time with you!

I’m Sara, and I live in Nuuk, Greenland. I’m originally from Falster, Denmark, but I made the move to Nuuk back in 2013. I’m an occupational therapist, an ambulatory wheelchair user, and I absolutely love building communities, improving accessibility, and creating cool opportunities for people.

I work in private practice as an occupational therapist, splitting my time so I spend some of the year in Denmark.

I’m actively involved with NIIK (the Greenlandic Disability Association) and Foreningen Norden, where it’s all about creating equal opportunities and bringing people together across cultures.

Most recently, I’ve been working with the Greenlandic Chess Federation on a exchange trip to get 3 Greenlandic U18 players to a Nordic tournament. For me, seeing young people travel, meet new friends from other cultures, and grow through new experiences is energigiving.

I hope our days here in Nuuk will spark new partnerships, whether through formal projects or strong networks. Organizations like NIIK and Foreningen Norden rely heavily on volunteers, which can make them quite fragile. We are really focused on becoming more stable and sustainable, and I’m excited to connect with people who can help us grow stronger.

My background is in municipal youth work as well as in photography, but currently I work freelance as a trainer.

I love knitting and never leave the house without a knitting project in my bag.

I live and work in Kópavogur which is in the capital area and am library director at Bókasafn Kópavogs (Kopavogur Public Library). The library is a place for residents of Kopavogur to meet, spend time with friends and family, and take advantage of the diverse collection. Everyone is welcome at the library regardless of gender, nationality, class or status, and public libraries have emphasized this aspect in all their activities for many years.

We do a lot of events for all groups, children and families, elderly and young people and youth. We work closely with the queer community center in Kópavogur. They have their gatherings and meetings at our library once a week. We also work with the community center for young people in Kópavogur, Molinn. Molinn is a platform for young people where the emphasis is on a positive social environment and diverse ways of participation. The goal is to offer work and services that take into account the interests and needs of young people.

Our goal is to work more and closer with young people. We want this group to be an active user group of the library, or a more active group if you can say so. We do a lot of social media to try to connect to young people, mostly on Instagram and TikTok. We have been doing BookTok for some years now and that has been a success.

The base of our service is of course books and literature but we are very open to all new ideas and suggestions to services, projects and events. Our focus for the last couple of years has been on "new icelanders", immigants and aslym seekers and the inclusion of these groups into the community.

My dream would be to get a grant and cooperate with instituions that work with young people.

My name is Taia and I am one of the seminar coordinators.

I work in the Danish National Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidayty Corps. My main tasks are related to the European Solidarity Corps, especailly volunteering projects. Prior to working in the national agency i worked in mainly in NGOs with international education as well as Humnaitarian Aid.

I live close to a small village in the Danish country side together with my family; outside of work I love being in my garden and in nature. I really enjoy exploring nature together with my husband and kids. Both close to where we live and in new areas and countryes. Also, what I really enjoy is to harvest eatable herbs and see what I can make from them.

Another thing I enjoy is embrodery - especially with a cup of tea on dark winter evenning.

At Á Milli project space, we help young and emerging artists organise and exhibit their work at low cost. We provide the physical space, but also support artists in taking an idea or a project and turning it into an exhibition.

I think art can be an amazing way of building connections between young people in Iceland, Greenland and Denmark. We are geographically and historically connected, but young people from these places do not necessarily have many opportunities to actually meet and create those opportunities.

My name is Simon Borgert Olesen, living in Nuuk, Greenland. Orginally from Denmark but moved here in 2022.

I'm the scout group leader for the local scout group here in Nuuk. We are one of only 3 scout group in Greenland

Our scout group welcomes all from 3 years and up divided into four different age groups

I love teaching the scouts all different thing that enables them to built there own role in the group and in the world.

Being a scout is so much more than just campfires, knots, first aid etc.

I wish that the scout movement in Greenland would grow back to the size it once had

In my first year at work we have arranged alot of concerts, open stages, events and workshops and battle of the bands type of competitions and working primarily with music this year.

Next year we are planning on widen our horizon to more theater, acting and filmmaking but still also having our competitions and concerts in our calenders.
