Types of Past Verbs

There are 4 types of past verbs. Today's lesson will cover Past Simple tense.

Past Simple- Yesterday I walked to the store.
Past Continuous- Yesterday, I was walking to the store.
Past Perfect- I had walked to the store before noon.
Past Perfect Continuous- I had been walking to the store before noon.

Making Verbs Simple Past

Simple Past can be used to convey something happened at one point of time and is no longer happening.

For regular verbs, add -ed to the end of the verb or -d if the verb ends with e.
I walk to the store.
I walked to the store.
Will you bathe later?
I bathed this morning.

When I drove to the store yesterday, I turned the radio on to listen to music. I listened to my favorite station for a few minutes, but when I heard a commercial on the radio, I changed the station to a different one. When I arrived at the store, I shut the radio off and went inside the store.
