1) Before the Industrial Revolution, people lived a quiet and slow life at home without much need to leave their hometown or any need for clocks because they would work at home and in doing so, only required them to work or sleep according to the rise and set of the sun.

2) The Industrial Revolution changed the material conditions of life and the way of earning a living, and promoted urbanization (migration of population to towns). People were no longer able to work from home at a leisurely pace due to the uprising of machines taking over the workforce.

3) The industrial revolution produced a mechanism that was able to make thread and fabric at a much faster pace with less human workforce, which quickly made the cottage industry collapse due to its lack of efficiency.

4) In 1811, Luddites was the name given to textile workers who got mad and rioted, destroying the machines in factories.

5) People had to leave home each day and had to meet production deadlines so they needed a scheduled working time, which resulted in the need for clocks in order to get to work at the right time.

6) As work in the countryside became scarce due to the increase in machinery and factories, workers from the countryside would migrate to the cities in order to find better job opportunities in the factories. Buildings were then built for workers so they would not have to travel a long way home every day from work.

1. The world was pretty quiet before the industrial revolution because there were no machines for rapid transportation.

2. traditional home-based textile rolusion workers were the first people to be replaced by machines when the industrial and poverty gap has widened.

3. division of labor and also steady work force.

4. Luddites were a group of people, usually including artisans and craftsman, that went protesting and wrecking apparatus due to a hatred for new technologies that stems from their replacement by technology during the industrial revolution. Today, it refers to basically people who are anti-technology.

5. Clocks became important in the Early Industrial Societies because accurate and consistent timing was necessary to regulate the working schedule of factory workers.

6. This is because as more factories are built, farmers and textile workers began to be replaced by the efficient machinery. As a result, these traditional workers have to move to cities to find jobs in order to make a living. Gradually, the increase in urban population leads to increased urbanisation.
