         <description><![CDATA[<div>The communities that welcome Maya are the store, school, and her mothers house at the end of the story. These welcome her successfully because she feels most comfortable in these places. Maya would not have gone back to live with her mother if she didn't support and make her feel comfortable. Her father's house and Mr. Freeman's and her mothers house were the least successful in welcoming Maya. They provided no support for her and made her feel uncomfortable.<br><br></div>]]></description>
