2. Liesel is cutting Max's hair

4. Liesel describes the weather for Max which he illustrates by painting it on the basement wall.
5. When Max is alone he does push-ups so that he can regain his strength because he fantasies about punching Adolf Hitler face on day, he describes his fantacy to Rosa, Liesel and Hans, they then paint over the wall so that Max can start writing his story.
6. when Russia allies with Britain the mayor's house looses all of his money so his wife makes Liesel go with a letter written by her to Rosa telling her that she can no longer afford to send out their washing.
7. Liesel yells at Freu Hermann and tells her to get over the death of her son, she then gets Rosa fired.
8. Tommy and Rudy are still in the Hitler youth meeting and sometimes, because of Tommy's hearing he can't hear when they stop marching so he gets punished for it an also Rudy because he tries to stand up for him.
9. Rudy steals a potato but is caught by the grocer, he tries to run away but runs in to Deutscher instead and when he refuses to answer when Hitler's birthday is he gets beat up and his hair is cut of with a knife.
10. Rudy stops attending the Hitler's youth meeting.

Rudy sleeps fully clothed, with his shoes on in case he needs to flee again.
Liesel was always very happy but know she is angry because Rosa can't no longer work at the Freu Hermann's house.

Rosa Huberman went to Liesel's school and started to yell at her and claimed that Liesel stole her hairbrush. Liesel didn't know what she was talking about and was confused. After Rosa had yelled at her she whispered to Liesel that Max was alive and handed her a toy soldier which Max told her to give Liesel.

Rosa Hubermens hair bun was fashioned in such a manor that Liesel could not believe how tight it was, this frightened Liesel immensely and it seemed to tighten further when she was forced to repeat herself.

“I told you, Papa. One of the nuns at school gave it to me.” 
 He knew exactly what that meant and he told her
