This image shows that zeal is not only black and white, but has color to it, meaning that it is not blind ambition. It is also 3D, representing its versatility and it variegated use. Zeal can be used at any stage in life, whether it be from a child to an adult. As a child, one may utilize zeal to achieve academic goals, while an adult would need zeal to further advance their careers. Another important characteristic of zeal that I identified in this image, is that though the background is a neutral gray, zeal seems to stick out. I do not acknowledge this due to its aesthetic appeal, but because it shows how being zealous is a quality that differentiates a person from the norm. For example, one may set a goal to practice soccer every day for 2 hours, but unless they are truly enthusiastic about what they want to do, they will be like everybody else; putting off a task until it catches up to them.

This ted talk is about how an ordinary man like Stephen made small yet impact adjustments to his daily life in order to improve his condition overtime. This required lots of zeal, for he was enthusiastic about achieving what he wanted for up to 7 years, as he says in the speech. On top of this, he also speaks of something else that is very important. Making the "marginal adjustments" count. He found what time he was wasting or what liabilities he faced in his life, and tweaked them to his favor. For example, in the 360 hours that he wasted listening to music in a year, he learned a new language, which is amazing when his age is considered. After all, science says that you have more stem cells when you are young, right? That may be true, but with zeal, anyone can accomplish any goal that they set their sights on.

This painting is an example of abstract art by Georgia O'Keeffe, and represents how the author moved towards her own style of painting. The painting can easily be identified as abstract, and this style of art was frowned upon during the time period in which she lived in. However, due to her zealous personality, Georgia moved away from the norm of obvious and representative art, and created a masterpiece that was abstract. Her zeal payed off at the end, for her painting was a huge hit in the scientific community.

The Maze Runner is a book by James Dashner that gives a good example of zeal. Our protagonist, Thomas, finds himself stuck in a maze that he does not know how he arrived in. Through curiosity and zeal, he finds the way to escape the ever shifting maze with dangers lurking at every corner. Even after escaping the maze, he is still zealous enough to explore the secrets of how he ended up there and why. This book represent strategy being incorporated with zeal, for he does not put his own life at risk to run the maze. Secondly, he is also very compassionate, and makes friends with even the people who treat him poorly. Therefore, I chose The Maze Runner as a book to represent zeal.

This picture is a great image to represent the effects of zeal. Zeal inspires curiosity to explore the unknown, and is a great tool to use when it comes to discovery. This image shows a fish taking a huge leap from it's small bowl to a larger one. The part about the large leap is clearly zeal, as it is taking a huge jump, and may not make it. Still, it has the enthusiasm to try, and attempt to reach the bigger bowl. The second figurative meaning for zeal that I found in this image is that through a zealous personality, the fish is expanding it's world from a small to a large one. This can be interpreted as a person expands their bank of opportunities by taking risks in life that they are truly passionate for
