         <description><![CDATA[<p>1) a. Independent Variable: temperature</p><p>    b. Dependent Variable: pressure</p><p>    c. Control Variable: volume</p><p>2) Pressure and temperature have an indirect relationship.</p><p>3) If the test tube had leaked, gas molecules would have</p><p>    escaped, so the pressure value would go down as there</p><p>    would be less molecules constituting pressure in the</p><p>    flask.</p><p>4) You would expect to see greater deviations from the</p><p>     ideal gas law under low temperatures and high pressures.</p><p>     a) At low temperatures, gas molecules are not in rapid</p><p>     constant motion like the ideal gas law states. b) At high</p><p>     pressures, the molecules are closer together and collide</p><p>     more frequently, also going against the ideal gas law's</p><p>     predictions of elastic collisions and mostly empty space</p><p>     constituting the volume.</p><p>6-9) (see graph to the right --&gt; )</p><p>*for number 6, refer to the data tables for the Kelvin values</p><p>  of specifically chosen data points from each part of the lab)</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 13px;">1) </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">Assemble your Sparkvue and attach the temperature probe and pressure sensor.</span><br></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">    Using an appropriately sized stopper, attach the pressure sensor tubing and&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">    calibrate to Sparkvue as necessary.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">2) Add 48 mL of water to the flask.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">3) Assemble a ring stand with the hot plate on its platform. Clamp the 125 mL flask&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">    to the ring stand and position it atop the hot plate, as far toward the center as possible</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">    for maximum heating.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">4) Heat the water in the flask until it boils, and then record your temperature and&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">    pressure data from the gas formed.</span></p>]]></description>
