Take a minute to reflect on the statistics and consider which student populations most likely need the most support. Do you have the skills to support these students?

Eye opening!

Based on the demographics of this school, I found myself making many assumptions about the students and their needs. I noticed that English Language Learners make up a very small portion of the student population. I wonder how these students are being served? If they are mixed in with native speakers in general education classes, they might not be getting the support they need with language development, but if they are being pulled out of general ed classrooms for English Language Development class, they might be missing out on important instruction and interaction with peers. I don't know that I have the skills (yet) to truly support these students.
