Plants are so important in our everyday lives. They help us in more ways than we realize. They provide a home for most animals and insects, and they also provide shade for us on a hot day. They give off oxygen for the living things that need it and in exchange we provide them with the carbon dioxide they need. We also use trees like these below to us as timber for houses and paper for school work.

This video seems to sum up photosynthesis rather well. Even if a person without any knowledge of photosynthesis at all watched this video, they should be able to fully understand it. It explains the process well and also uses some good terminology. Since I am a visual person, this video has helped me with putting a visual of how photosynthesis works in my mind

This website has a great deal of information to digest. It explains what native plants are and the many ways to classify them. It also explains the ecology of Georgia and how diverse the plant variety is in Georgia. It goes on to describe the various types of plants and their characteristics, physical appearance, and uses in landscaping.

The rainforests are a vital part of the world biome system. We as humans tend to act without really thinking about the consequences of our actions. People are still shaving a little off the rainforests at a time to use as timber wood, paper, and whatever else they wish. However, the rainforests are home to so many vastly different species of plants and animals and if the forest continues to be cut down, species will die off. Perhaps some that have yet to be identified.

The domestication of plants allowed populations to flourish while remaining in one place which was a completely new idea at the time. Before farming, people groups would follow a heard of animals since that was their way of obtaining food. Now that farming is one the scene, these people could remain in one place. This caused the population to increase over the course of time much more so than the generations before.

I believe caffeine has a firm grip on today's society. Everyone has to have some form of caffeine to get through the day. Maybe it's the coffee they drink in the morning or the coke they have for lunch. Either way, I think that caffeine is the most used chemical that comes from a plant.
https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-979/caffeine

I believe, the way we are headed as a world system, is a destructive road leading to a global change in the way the earth sustains us. The world was never meant to go on the way that it is. This picture represents what we will see on a daily basis if the world goes on the way it is. If there aren't any regulations on the way we treat our planet, then the earth will eventually look like this.
