The central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is how researches are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffes population. In the passage Counting Giraffes it states, "In their search for giraffes, scientists spotted trouble. In the 1970's, about 13,000 giraffes lived in Serengeti National Park...the number has been going down, and the park has now about 3,500." This shows that the giraffes are going missing and the population is going down and the giraffes are going instinct. Another piece of evidence states, "The team wanted to find out why the number of giraffes was now smaller...The scientists looked at four possible causes: lions, parasites, illegal hunters(called poachers) and poor food supply." This piece of evidence shows how the giraffes are getting killed and how also how the population of giraffes are getting lower. In conclusion the central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is how researches are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffes population.

The central idea of the Counting Giraffes, is that researchers are determining the reasons for the giraffes population. In the text it states that, " in their search for giraffes, scientists spotted trouble. In the 1970, about 13,000 giraffes lives in Serengeti National park and that the numbers of giraffes are going down in the park and now the park has 3,500. " This show that in Counting giraffes, researchers are determining the reasons for the giraffes population. In Addition it states that " instead, they surveyed three regions where giraffes were studied in the 1970. I know this because in paragraph 3 it states "In the 1970's, about 13,000 giraffes lived in Serengeti National Park. Since then, the number has been going down,,and the park now has about 3,500." this proves that the researchers are seeing change in the giraffes.

The central idea of "Counting Giraffes" by David Brown is that researchers are determining the reasons for change in the giraffe population. In the text paragraph eight, Brown states, "The researchers counted parasite eggs in giraffe droppings, and they found too few to harm the giraffe population." This piece of evidence shows that researchers are determining the change in giraffe population because they are investigating parasite eggs in giraffe droppings to determine the reason for the giraffe population decreasing. In the text, paragraph ten Brown also states, "The researchers found fewer calves today than in the 1970's compared with the number of adult females, a sign that food was in short supply." This piece of evidence also shows how the central idea is researchers determining the reason for the change in giraffe population because it shows that the researchers determined another reason which is lack of food supply which ended up being the actual reason for the population of giraffes decreasing. In conclusion, the central idea of "Counting Giraffes" by David Brown is that researchers are determining the reasons for change in the giraffe population.

The central idea in " Counting Giraffes " is to determine the reasons for changes in the Serengeti giraffe population. In paragraph 8, It states "The team then asked whether too many giraffes were being killed by parasites, such as worms that infect the digestive system" This quote illustrates the reason that giraffes population is going down, Also, in paragraph 10, it states "a lot of new trees have grown in the Serengeti since the 1970s, But many are a type that giraffe do not like to eat." This paragraph states that there is a mix of trees that giraffes do eat and some that giraffes don't like to eat, Which gives us the idea that food supply might be the problem for the giraffe population. In conclusion, The central idea in " Counting Giraffes " is to determine the challenges Giraffes face that could be harming their population.

The central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is that one negative change in their enviroment can make a grave impact. In the text it states "They asked if pochers were killing too many giraffes. Two of the areas they studied are close to places with a lot of people and where giraffe meat is sometimes sold in local markets." This shows that when there is a change to the giraffes environment they will be affected negatively. In the text it states "The scientist also wondered if the giraffes had enough food. An envirornment with plenty of food can support lots of giraffes, including healthy females who have many calves. When the food supply is short the environment supports fewer giraffes and the females have fewer calves. A lot of new trees have grown in the Serengeti since the 1970's but many are the type that giraffes do not like to eat." This shows that once new trees that giraffes don't eat has made a negative change reducing the amount of calves female giraffes have. In conclusion if there is a negitive change in the giraffes environment it will throw their daily life cycle off.

The central idea of the Counting Giraffes is how researchers are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffe population. In the text it states in ''paragraph 10 that The scientists also wondered if the giraffes had enough food. An environment with plenty of food can support lots of giraffes, including healthy females who have many calves".

The central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is how researches are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffes population. In the texts it states" giraffes were studied in the 1970s. As they expected, they saw far fewer of these animals. In one area, the number of giraffes dropped from about 550 to about 75 .This shows that the giraffes population is going down because they're going missing or something else is happening to them. In the text it states" scientists looked at four possible causes: lions, parasites, illegal hunters". This says that giraffes are getting killed and the population is getting lower. In conclusion central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is how researches are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffes population.

The central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is that researchers are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffe population. According to the text " in the 1970 about 13,000 giraffes live in Serengeti national park since then the number has been going down and the park now has about 3,500". This shows that researchers are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffe population. In addition, it states Scientists analyzed four possible causes: lions, parasites, poachers, and food shortages. These were the possible causes. this shows that researchers are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffe population. This shows that researchers are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffe population. In conclusion this shows that The central idea of "Counting Giraffes" is how researchers are determining the reasons for changes in the giraffe population.
