Life Insurance - Ben Moore by Benjamin Moore

Life insurance is a contract between you and an insurance company. In exchange for premium payments, the insurance company will pay a sum of money to your beneficiaries once you die which is called a death benefit.

This is similar to universal life insurance in that premium payments are flexible and the cost of insurance rises over time. The main difference between the two is that variable life insurance has a cash value account that does not pay a fixed or guaranteed rate of return. The cash value is invested into sub-accounts. The growth or loss in cash value is dependent on market performance.

This is a permanent form of life insurance. It is very similar to whole life insurance, the main difference being that universal has a flexible premium structure while whole has a fixed one. The insurance cost typically increases over time which also increases that rate at which the cash value increases, so you will make the money back. This also has a cash value that you can take loans and withdrawals from.

This policy is permanent and lasts your whole lifetime. It builds a cash value over time as you make more payments. Whole policies can be a good form of investment if the dividend payment becomes high enough to pay the premium value. You can take loans out of the cash value.

This is the least expensive type of life insurance. Term policies have no cash value and have little investment value. This policy only lasts for a specified length of time. You can get a 10, 15, 20, or 30 year term. If you outlive your term policy then you will not receive a death benefit.
