This is Dr. Oz, a famous surgeon turned TV host. He promotes alternative medicine that the government and physicians would not recommend their clients. He is a strong believer of pseudoscience. In this picture, he is promoting a new product called "Fast Busters". This is a perfect example of proof by verbosity because people claim this product really works, Dr. Oz being a celebrity promotes it so it can also be Appeal to authority. It is very evident that he selling products for profit and not for the benefit of others

Is a crystal ball really going to determine your life?

In this picture you see a man going to a lady who is supposedly helping him talk to the dead. As a skeptic, I know this is impossible and a myth. A huge pseudoscience present in this would be "Mystical Energy", "Proof by Verbosity" & "Confirmation Bias". Spiritualists use the word energy but it has a completely meaning compared to what science defines it as. Proof by verbosity is based on the amount of information you receive to persuade others into believing it is true without researching for yourself. An Emotional Connection can lead a person into going to any extent to achieve this form of happiness. Perfect example is talking to the dead.

The World is Ending!

The Mayan's Calendar predicting the world would be ending in 2012 caused major ruckus and chaos for many around the world! This is an example of Simplicity. People didn't question why or how they just believed it to be true because it was scientifically hard to understand. Pseudoscience is just much more easy. Ancient Wisdom is a key factor as it is hard to prove if their predictions were right or wrong. It is believed they had more knowledge in the olden days. Confirmation Bias is a big one, as people just went on with one side of this theory and didn't really analyze as to why the world would not end.

This article on astrology is great for skeptics who use critical thinking and would like to learn why people believe in this form of pseudoscience. Ancient wisdom plays a major role in convincing people into believing this is true because it dates back centuries ago, the reading of stars and our solar system is incorporated in it. It may seem like some form of Mystical Energy surrounding this idea, but in reality there is nothing that Mars, Saturn or any other planet in space that can determine your life.

What is Magnetic Therapy?

As the website selling this bracelet claims, Magnetic Therapy has been around for hundreds or even thousands of years. First off there is no real evidence to this statistic. It is not known when this form of therapy started. Perfect example of ancient wisdom as no real evidence shows this works but just based on assumptions. This raises the red flags of mystical energy and All Natural because this product has mercury in it which supposedly would help your joints feel better.

First of all Feng Shui translates to wind-water in English. This is a Chinese philosophical system which is supposed to synchronize and harmonize everyone with the surrounding environment. Ancient Wisdom, Confirmation Bias and All Natural are present. People believe what they want to believe, rather than benefiting from this form of concentration. This in reality does nothing to you and your surrounding environment, you are initially just convinced by information that are not true to support this theory.

Appeal to Authority can be seen here as the man is in a suit and tie and a has a powerpoint presentation on why too much insulin can promote fat and colorectal cancer. This is a myth. Also an ideological support as to why people shouldn't do certain things because it can affect their health negatively, which may not be true.
