Rogers in his work brings up the topic about questionable role models, the pedophilia problem, and unbalanced families. In the paragraph about questionable role models he brings to attention that there is a lot of studies that pertain to the emotional and psychological well-being of homosexuals is unstable. There is cases by Yale and Harvard shows that homosexual pedophilia is 3 times higher than heterosexual pedophilia. Rogers also put in a psychologist point of view about how helpful it is for an infant to have both mother and father roles as they show 2 different sides, caring vs. discipline.

Rogers is a writer is South Africa. He puts professional viewpoints in about psychological evidence of what having a mother and father gives to the child. He also put in statistics from colleges that do a lot of research to show how likely homosexual pedophilia is than heterosexual pedophilia. Throughout his work you can see his opinion that gays shouldn’t adopt and why, through evidence.

This article provides viewpoints from the opposing side that I have to address in order to get my point across that homosexuals should be able to adopt. This article gives me things I need to do research about in and types of things to get statics for in order to dispute the opposing side.

For:

Hunt, Jerome, and Jeffrey Krehely. "Homosexuals Should Be Allowed to Adopt." Homosexuality, edited by David Haugen and Susan Musser, Greenhaven Press, 2013. Opposing Viewpoints. Opposing Viewpoints in Context, http://link.galegroup.com/apps/doc/EJ3010143407/OVIC?u=bcps&xid=c39cecbd. Accessed 23 Feb. 2018. Originally published as "State Antigay Adoption Policies Need to Go,", 12 Oct. 2010.

This article is about how homosexuals should be able to adopt. This article addresses the laws and policies of states regarding adoption, the number of children affected in certain states and how much it cost the state to keep those children in foster care, and shows that homosexual parents are just as capable as heterosexual parents. States have laws that say homosexuals can’t adopt, single people can’t adopt, and if they have a bad feeling they can also deny an adoption. Florida’s ban kept 165 children in foster and cost the states $2.5 million a year. Estimated that 219 children would be adopted now the ban is lifted saving the state $3.4 million. Children raised by homosexuals are just as likely to grow up well adjusted as children raised by heterosexuals.

There is no clear bias in this article. The author shows statistics and laws and policies. The tone of this article is informative. There is no mention of the other side’s point of view. The information presented is from the last 10 years so it is a relevant topic in today’s day and age. There is also mention of organizations.

This article will help me have information on my topic and give me statistics to back up my point of view. It will be easier to dispute the opposing side with the statistics given in this article.
