As of september 2021,
the Javan rhino is still declared a "Critically Endangered" species in its extinction status.  This means that even though the Javan rhino population is highly threatened, they have not been declared extinct that year.  However, it is important to remember that conservation status may change over time, and efforts are ongoing to protect and restore the Javan rhino population.
