Is Robert E. Lee a hero? Or a villain? In my mind, he is more of a villain than he is a her. My reasoning behind this is that he obviously was a failure with the Confederate Army in the Civil War. Also, he had so many problems going on at home that this put his family in jeopardy, financially. My third and final reason is because he is considered an American traitor. He was going to be hanged for becoming this traitor, but the process did not go through. With these reasons supporting me, it is obvious that he is much more of a villain than a hero.
