Time Periods:The civil war lasted from 1984 to 2005, though tensions between the groups are much older.
Motives: Since both are universalizing religions, they seek converts; moreover, this contributes to a general dislike of one another that was then fueled by their close proximity within the nation of Sudan. There was also a strain of resources and power.
Types of Warfare Used: Armed militias were used against each side.
Solutions: In 2005, the Comprehensive Peace Agreement was formed between the North and South, allowing the South to break off and create South Sudan.
