This shows that Gatsby is determined to find Daisy again and find the right opportunity to be with her. As Tom talks about the drug stores Gatsby were involved in it takes a while for Gatsby to lose his temper on Tom, but Tom succeeds and Gatsby gets frustrated. "Then I turned back to Gatsby-and was startled at his expression. He looked-and this is said in all contempt for the babbled slander of his garden-as if he had "killed a man". (Fitzgerald 83) As Gatsby looks at Nicks house he notices that it's not that nice so he kindly sends over someone to cut Nick's grass to make it look better.
