-Trump decided to stop this program, and because it was an executive policy decision, he could simply reverse the policy. The Trump administration announced that it would slowly "wind down" the program and that the dreamers, those protected under the program, would generally not be targeted for deportation. Congress was also given six months to find a legislative alternative but Sessions said that new applications of DACA would not be accepted.
-Supporters of DACA include: immigration advocates, most Democratic politicians, and a majority of national politicians in the Republican party.
