As of now, I think our network makes it quite easy and accessible to almost anywhere in Singapore and it’s not entirely necessary for more stations and routes to be added. I think our current system does have stuff that we could improve in before adding more lines and in that would also make the new lines better.

Group 2, geet Christine kenise Cheng wen Zi cing

The future transport system will have brallie on the mrt map at a reachable location for people whom are blind to know where they want to go. In the mrt there will be a designated place for the wheelchair to be parked at. The bus will say which stop they have reached so that the blind people will be able to know which stop they are at, whether they have reached. In the future transport system, there would be alot of self driving cars and taxis which would allow passengers to get to their destinations quickly with lesser accidents. The bus will be driven without the driver so it will be an automatic driving bus at a slow and comfortable speed the bus will also know when the traffic lights turn red so that the bus will not jerk suddenly like the normal buses. The bus will also be shown in either red or green. Red if it is crowded and green if it is not crowded.

The autonomous mobility on demand shuttles allow passengers to plan ahead and book shared on demand AVs which makes it easy for passengers to ensure that their transport comes on time. AV’s high fidelity sensors are able to sense the surroundings to navigate according to traffic conditions and rules. Those vehicles use AI to optimise routes in real time, reducing wait times and ensuring efficient travel. The system prioritises sustainability by using renewable energy sources. In the event of road accidents, the buses would have multiple alternate routes to avoid much delay from a destination to another destination, allowing the buses to arrive on time. The use of real time date analytics helps monitor traffic patterns, user helps monitor traffic patterns, user behavior and environmental impact. Data collected informs future planning, allowing for continuous improvements for the system. The transport system is supported by smart infrastructure, including intelligent traffic signals and road sensors that communicate with vehicles, minimising congestion and enhancing safety. Solar panels and wind turbines power charging stations located throughout the network. You can plan your trip using an app that combines different transport options like bikes, scooters and trains which makes it easier to switch between them.

The system would use smart cameras and ultrasonic sensors, to "see" moving vehicles pedestrians and cyclists in blind spots and take preventive measures. A new navigation system would be put in place. It can perform automatic steering, gear changing and speed throttling technology.a display will show useful number, current and upcoming bus stops as well as the terminal destination accompanied by audio announcement for the visually impaired. Flashing warning lights will be mounted on the bus exterior, to provide an additional visual cue to commuters to keep a safe system when the vehicle is in motion. An assistive passenger system is design to enhance the ride experience for commuters with special needs.internal and external speakers will announce service number from a destination, as well as the next stop for visually impaired commuters. Audio announcement will also be transmitted to hearing impaired commuters through their hearing aids to board or alight commuters with special needs may use a mobile app to notify bus captain directly. Commuters will be able to enjoy free 5G wifi connectivity during their commute, to allow them to plan or adjust their journeys, or to enjoy entertainment on the go via their mobile devices. The advance makes commuting efficient, inclusive and sustainable.

Thirdly, when there are more stops commuters will most likely have a stop near them which may entice them into taking the bus instead of cars and when they take bus instead of cars, it will help to reduce carbon emissions. Lastly, more stops would likely allow busses to have less stops and have an even distribution so they can work efficiently and shorten each loop that the bus takes reducing the passengers wait time also

All of which will lead to an efficient transport system.

-Alyssa ,Anya ,Callie ,Yun lin

ii) enhancing bus routes and fleets

many people are singapore live further from their actual schools, and need to travel long distances to travel to the bus stop. this can cause many students to miss the bus

having more bus stops can greatly reduce the time taken for the students to reach school. parents will also not need to send their kids to school by car, further making this option sustainable for the environment as there will be less cars and more buses used by people.

Welcome to: The Water MRT!

The problem we want to solve: We cannot traverse the water. This, we drew a future transport system that uses advanced technology to help us traverse the seven seas!

How it works: There is a rail underneath that powers the train like a Maglev Train. Then, there are floatable bumpers to ensure that the train does not touch the water while still being able to move because of the magnets on the rails and the magnets on the bottom of the train. The train model should look like a bullet train where the front is sharp and goes into a point. This will allow the train to cut through the air and move as fast as an arrow. The train should also have a streamlined body shape.

The train tracks could also be adaptable so bicycles and cars that are magnetic can also ride across the rails for the trains. There could be a schedule for what days/time when the train goes and when it doesn't. This allows people to cycle, drive and ride the train across the infinite expanses of the ocean.

Thanks

(Extra answer)

Our idea of a futuristic transport system that is not only inclusive and efficient, but also sustainable, consists of a multitude of functions. For example:

The buses and MRTs would have more seats, as well as extendable handrails/ handrails of differing lengths, to accommodate for the passengers who are unable to reach them, as well as the elderly who may not be able to balance properly. (Reanne)

The transportation systems would all contain braille in every necessary location, in order to assist visually impaired passengers. (Celeste)

A mechanism/extendable flap to close the gap between train and platform, so that no possible obstructions will fall onto the rails/lessen the possibility of injuries. (Extra idea suggested by Quinn :D)
