The reason why the education funding is being cut is for three main reasons. America is in a huge amount of debt, not nearly as much as say Greece but still. Then there is the problem when we do have enough money to spend on large government projects the money is subjectively wasted on something not as important.

Now, given the fact that education is just another department that the federal government can freely allocate our nation' capital. However, due to the fact that the higher, wealthy class of America tends to always legally evade their taxes and we wind up increasing the amount as a result of war and other squabblings.

As a result of our debt, we're incapable of allocating our wealth to each department to optimal levels and some of them have to suffer. Apparently, we value the safety of food rather than the quality of the food, military 'defending' are country from foreign and domestic threats. Are decision to allocate are capital this way leaves very little money if to improve education. When we don't have the money to even give something to each department while still favoring other departments with state-of-the-art advance.

The US education curriculum is slightly inferior to that of most of the rest of the world. This is due to a lack of innovation or eagerness amongst the teachers. The money spent on funding a teacher's salary leading to the use of an uninspired and obsolete education system that they will soon forget .

Furthermore, the US doesn't make all education relatively free so some very poor members of American Society cannot afford an actual education. The taxes payed by the people are not high enough to make all education relativey free and encourage teachers.

Lastly, US children aren't as disciplined as much as countries in Asia like Japan and China. Children in America only go to school for 5 days on an average week and 180 days a year but in other countries the children go t school year round
or 7 days a week. Their parents are extremely militant about grades and may actually physically punish and abuse their children for below expectation grades.

The Hoover Institute task force of K-12 education has speculated many new changes in education 20 years from now. The good news is that education will become more virtual and computer based, more time dedicated to education, and equality in graduation rates between African American and Caucasians.

Downside is the price for public education will be more expensive, teaching will be more difficult for the same pay, and the quality of the curriculum will not improve much.
