When imagining an alternative school, I did picture something like that in Davidson High in the sense that students would be in smaller groups for more individualized teaching and mentoring. However, I did notice that the school was less "friendly" somehow. There was significantly less space yet the students they chose to speak to were actually very happy and grateful. Something that I did not imagine would be that students would actually want to be there since it is an "alternative" to the norm of schooling that we see.

My version of an alternative school has always been a school for students that continuously had behavioral issues and were sent to the school as punishment. I understand that some of the students may be here because of such issues but this seems like much more to me. I think that this school gives these students an opportunity to complete their education without the pressures of regular high school. I think that students with anxiety like the girl interviewed would do well here because of the small student body population. I was really surprised by the outer appearance and expected it to be similar on the inside. I was actually relieved to see that the classrooms seemed to be up to date technology wise.
