I have a prediction for this book about the men because if the grandfather has to tell people to listen to them people might dislike the men or they just don't want to listen to them. People could also dislike the president if they arent answering to the men.

They also mention that they have drums full of blood, but they are no were to be seen. I have a prediction that the soldiers will kill some people but not all. I believe that they will only kill the people who voted against them as they said. Then they will threaten the others and force hem to do things against there will.

I predict that Deo and Innocent are going to flee Zimbabwe. This is due to Mugabe's horrible things that he enforces on his people. He first guilts his people into believing that he brought everyone to freedom and he should stay in office because of that. He goes so far to make his soldiers threaten and kill his own people, for the sole reason of them not voting for Mugabe. This entirely proves that they have no freedom due to them not being able to have free freedom of speech as well as their own political views.

That memory makes Deo laugh hysterically whenever he thinks about it. This memory is the reason why he calls his Grandpa Grandpa longdrop.

there was a moment on pg 13 where it talks about how the president promised them freedom and safety. This is interesting because in the book the president is described as someone who is controlling, and even ruthless to his people. In the second chapter it says that innocent ended up running at the guards in a manner of attacking them, and ends hurting himself by the guards. This shows the guards choose violence instead of safety like the president promised.

Innocent looks like a very out going and curios boy and I wonder if he will come out of the pip even after Deo said not too.

This page stood out to me because it shows how the main character is feeling. This is a strong moment because you can really feel the deep regret and sorrow the character is feeling. This shows how much his brother really meant to him. When the character says, " Tears run down my face." this uses imagery which is useful to get a clear idea of what the character is looking like in this situation, other than what the character is feeling.

This page was very noticeable because it talks about the destruction and terror the book has to offer. Its interesting because to know all of this happened really puts a dark tone to the story. This page also talks a lot about the characters and that they died, which carries an even darker tone to the story. " He stares up at the sky. His mouth is open. He does not look like grandpa longdrop anymore." This is just one example of how this page expressed the dark tone to the story. And that the story has a lot to offer.

When I woke up I realized it wasn't a dream -- she was crying she was crying, but silently." This is both a metaphor, hyperbole, and imagery. It related amai's tears to a river, exaggerated the amount of tears, (No one can cry enough to fill a river) and described it really well. This all shows that amai is very upset about the whole situation with innocent and the presidents men, due to the fact that she is crying so much that it went into Deo's dream.

Even though a gun can not bark or come alive, the sound still resembles it. This has relevance to the story because it shows how loud the guns are and how Deo is not use to it. It also shows that Deo is now realizing how serious the matter is. He now knows that the soldiers are not here to kill just the people who voted "wrong", but everyone.

This shows a lot about what people think of innocents behavior. this also shows a little about innocents background and that was damaged as a child. This is what caused innocent to be so aggressive and so quick to anger. So I wonder when the radio dies, is Innocent gonna explode with anger, described by his younger brother." Screaming and breaking things and swearing so bad it makes your toes curl. Im a little scared of my big brother when he gets like that." This shows that Incoccent does get mad and it even scares his younger brother. Which shows a lot towards his general attitude.

Innocent has just as much of the right to know about what happened to his family as Deo does. Deo didn't just not tell innocent, he lied and said they were still alive! Innocent needs time to grieve and by Deo not telling him he will somehow and somewhere find out and need time to process what happened to his family. Deo is upset about what happened, but lying just makes it worse for Innocent. Not only will Innocent be upset about what happened to his family, but he will also be mad at Deo for lying.

For example, he will yell if he is not clean, or if the battery runs out on his Bix-Box. This tells me that Innocent is a very organized person who does not liked to be bothered. If something small happens like his hands are not clean, it means that his daily routine is messed up. If it is, he will throw a tantrum until its fixed. However, this also tells me that Deo, his mom, and grandpa Long Drop are very caring and love Innocent no matter how challenging he can get.

Sure, it did mention that he had to have something in his hands, but he could have held the soccer ball that Deo had been bringing around. It was very kind and thoughtful of Deo to urgently get batteries for Deo so that he would stay calm, as it was shown in the text that Innocent was getting very anxious.
