This year's focus for STEM is numeracy and maths. We will be continually looking at our environment to help us provide a place where numeracy and maths is everywhere! We have put together some things to try at home for you to help your child be happy and confident exploring numeracy and maths. We understand that many people suffer from maths anxiety and we want to break that cycle in our children. A great place to start is making playdough together.  Playdough helps children explore estimation, weight and measure, algorithms, fractions, sharing, quantities and so much more.  On this padlet you will find an easy playdough recipe, a song card and link to a STEM for families that we have made. It is fun and very gentle. Libraries are open so no need to buy. We also have a lending library in the foyer. Even if the book doesn't talk about numbers you can still count different things you see on the page, comment on colours or patterns and read together!
