In the past 40 years the hunters have killed all the wolfs in yellow stone this would be a big impact because the elk would eat all the willows and the beavers would not have enough food to survive the winter and to build there homes. There was hardly any singing birds in the video also there were barely any food left for the elk because the elk are eating all the willow trees and the willow can't produce food .But when they brought back the wolfs they started to chase elk and put them on the move, while the elk are always on the move the plants and willows would start to grow and able to feed the life that is in yellow stone park .

Elk are the most abundant large mammal found in Yellowstone. European American settlers used the word “elk” to describe the animal, which is the word used in Europe for moose (causing great confusion for European visitors). The Shawnee word “wapiti,” which means “white deer” or “white-rumped deer,” is another name for elk. The North American elk is considered the same species as the red deer of Europe.

There was a SHORT time when wolfs were GONE.
Heres the thing.

you have to go back to the 1930s when the wolf was killed off in Yellowstone. Even though Yellowstone elk were still preyed upon by black and grizzly bears, cougars and, to a lesser extent, coyotes, the absence of wolves took a huge amount of predatory pressure off the elk, said, Smith. As a result, elk populations did very well-perhaps too well. Two things happened: the elk pushed the limits of Yellowstone's carrying capacity, and they didn't move around much in the winter-browsing heavily on young willow, aspen and cottonwood plants. That was tough for beaver, who need willows to survive in winter.

the population changed because of a predator being GONE.
