From editing to our first and second rough cuts as well as the final piece, I've noticed the main aspect of our opening that appeals to the target audience, is the style and look of the title credits, the overall colouring, the sound we've used and how we've edited it and some of the actors.

In the first rough cut, as a group we were no where near pleased with how the result looked and when we asked for feedback from fellow peers, they were rather confused to what genre / style we were going for.

Consider the role of the rough cut feedback - did it help you improve?

After receiving feedback from Levi (Group 11) and Tashaii (Group 15) and hearing roughly the same things which they found a bit off, i.e. finding difficulty about our genre and finding parts of the story-line confusing; in the end it did help us improve vastly. What we did to respond to the feedback, our group went over all the clips we had currently edited and arranged them in a certain order which not only fixed the story-line but allowed us to then discuss what things could be included, e.g. sound. Without our voice overs and foley sounds I don't think we could of achieved what we did.

Because of their feedback, it allowed us as a group to sit down and actually think how we could make our piece what we originally envisioned.

Explain how you've reached your audience so far

I've reached my audience so far from not only choice of genre but because of locations, characters, use of sound and actors. My choice of genre for the film opening is thriller, featuring teenagers going missing from a party. The use of sound in my title opening varies also as we used a creepy soundtrack with various voice overs.

The promotional tools I used to reach our audience was mainly social media. As a group we created a Twitter and mainly tweeted about days we were filming our sequence. We also promoted ourselves to friends via broadcasts on Whatsapp.

To expand the amount of people who would view the sequence, the type of release I had was the opportunity to preview our film sequence in a Cinema which was booked exclusively and specifically for students. As our target audience ranges from 16 - mid 20s, this was perfect to see if our audience liked the piece.

The film sequence was also uploaded online onto a video sharing website called Vimeo. Alongside Vimeo, a limited DVD release was made to give the opportunity to people who weren't at the cinema to view the sequence.

What do your audience (target and wider) think of your final title sequence?

After recording some feedback from a few students, it seems that the responses were similar. From the two people we asked for feedback from, they mentioned that the sequence was "good" and they would "like to watch the rest" if it was made into a movie.

From our first feedback video, she mentioned that she liked how our sequence "carried over the chasing and the build up", she also mentioned that she liked the lights which were flickering. In addition, when asked about the genre, she guessed correctly, suggesting parts of our sequence matched up with the target and wider audience. This feedback matches up with what I thought they would like, as most teens can't resist watching something that relates to Thriller.

From our second feedback video, when asked about genre, the gentlemen also guessed correctly. He mentioned that he liked the type of shots we had, (the range between close ups and mid-shots), the storyline and the lighting.

From the feedback given, it tells me that attracting and addressing audiences isn't as complicated as it might seem. Even though we didn't get any type of criticism, it still highlights the fact that the storyline and the lighting may be the two things that identifies our sequence as a thriller.
