July 15 1975
Today is the start of the mission the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Thomas, Vance, and I will be begin to leave orbit in the Apollo CSM 111. This mission is different though, we will be connecting to the Soviet Union Soyuz docking module. On the Soyuz are Alexei Leonov and Valeri Kubasov. Hopefully it would not take long and we would be home sooner than expected. Our mission is estimated around 9 days so it won't be long
Donald Slayton

August 7 1975
2 weeks ago marked the return of the Apollo to earth. We had stayed 2 more days than the soviets. We began to reenter earths atmosphere but ran into some issues. While reentering the crewmates and I were exposed to toxic hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide. Brand had lost consciousness while Stafford put emergency oxygen mask on brad and handed one to me. Me and the other 2 had to be hospitalized for 2 weeks. The mission was considered a success with both scientific and social success for both countries.
