4. There may be lessons from the promotion of flexitarian (or casual vegetarian) diets that can be applied to fashion. For example, draw on Michael Pollan’s Food Rules (2009) to craft a campaign to change fast fashion consumption by Riverdale’s students. Which stakeholders benefit from the campaign?

It can be argued that the stakeholders are not interested with the campaign, and this is evident with the drastic increase in climate change from fashion industries. This shows that fashion industries are not willing to take the steps to reduce climate change. Also the catastrophic event in Rana Plaza in Dhaka resulted in civilian casualties and there were list of companies sourcing clothes such as Primark. This demonstrates that fashion industries have no interest in reducing the negative impact on climate change.

1.a) The students society wants to draw attention to the role of students in fighting the negative impacts of fast fashion. How the fashion industry has collapsed ecological balance due to the effect of climate change through the release of green house gases, landfill wastes from discarded clothes, water pollution, and the social impacts of fashion’s outsourced supply chain of labour.
This is right choice because Fashion Revolution’s ‘vision of a fashion industry that values people, the environment, creativity and profit in equal measure’ as it recognizes more than profit as a bottom line.
1.b) Yes, The proposed campaign address the interests of the stakeholders. It is proved by the statement of Shiyue pointing out The True Cost against the Rana Plaza catastrophe.
1.c) ‘Every week 11 million items of clothing end up in landfill. Throwaway fashion is putting increasing pressure on our planet and its people. So by taking pledge to say no to new clothes avoid landfill. Clothing Consumption and Sustainability (2019), which called on government to end the era of throwaway fashion, through wide-ranging recommendations covering environmental and labour market practices Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme to reduce textile waste through a 1-pence charge per garment on producers, to be implemented.
2. Campaign through social media like Instagram will develop a positivities for the student of Riverdale University. Its a Era of Technology, so it will support the students.
3.Yes, ‘Will I wear this 30 times?’ a good rule. This will make people think twice before purchasing. It will reduce the consumption of clothing in public. Clothes consumption for men is quite less comparing to the women. The statement is not equally valid.
4. Consumers, the stakeholders will be benefited. Increasingly, in cultural turn, they are being asked to consider the food we consume as a moral issue, concerning about environmental damage, climate change and the spiralling health costs of an obese and diabetic population.
5.
The first lockdown regulations had a big impact on the fashion industry, with many people staying at home and many brands having to close their stores.

Especially with customers not attending events, this ultimately affected their purchasing decisions and the sales of retailers and fashion companies.

Leading fast-fashion brands like H&M, Zara, and more have been publicly accused of not taking financial and social responsibility for workers in their supply chains.
