Thus, improving the performance time of the whole tasks by lowering the time.
| Needs to be warned of missed tasks | For safety & home management, the apps has the capability to warn any unlock doors & windows, open gas valves, lower inventory of detergents & groceries, open appliances, etc.
| Needs to be simple data check in/input | Daily check in is by tapping the iPad screen and input is made very simple and friendly.
| Needs to interface with other applications, inventory, utility control, etc | This is the future interfaces that needs to be prototype and shown to the user.

Step 7 Reflection on Unit 1: Female (64 years old)

Step 7: Reflection on Unit 1

My user is a retired secondary school teacher of the government and she is 64 years old. As a very active and involve in the mission person, she has no household helper and do all the house chores with her husband.

The two important things I learned in Unit 1 that I applied to look for her problem to sleep early by maintaining or reducing the time spent to her bedtime routines, was the process of problem identification in step 1 to 3 and Solution formulations in step 4 to 6.

In step 3, I made a discovery as the first step in design thinking using the interview tool that was used and with the brainstorming that followed on all possible questions. This was narrowed to 4-5 open-ended questions that explore and focus possibilities that is very important in data gathering and design consideration. Responses are noted that included the physical aspects and body and facial expressions in order to verify the seriousness of the issues and help the interviewer the focus on the ideas presented.

Using our dreams and imagination by expressing this using the paper prototyping tool in Step 5, I was amazed by the generation of brainstorming ideas. This was qualified and evaluated and selected about 5 to 6 best and doable ideas that are categorised further into digital, existing ideas that need to be improved, new experience and creative ideas.

Finally, the design thinking process came into fruition in step 6. In this step, she was allowed to try the prototype of the digital check list Apps from prototype drawing the tab/cellphone screens on the paper and give her ideas what happens if the screens are tapped for check in or data entry. I learned that she understood because after the prototyping, she suggested to interface or connect this to her cellphone and further suggested to include interface with his unlocked doors & windows, switching off of light, water and gas and finally use this to replenish medicines and grocery inventories.

Finally, I learned how the design process is done and this is applicable in our intervention to advance the K-12 program curriculum particularly the STEM subjects with the goal of enhancing the understanding of the courses.

Thank you to all professors.

BENIE A SY
