What does our future look like out there in the workforce?

Many of the jobs we rely on now won’t exist in the future.

https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/jobs-artificial-intelligence-will-replace

According to Careers Advice Online, approximately 30% of the total workforce will change jobs every 12 months. By the age of 42 most will likely have had about ten jobs. As educators, we can conclude that it is important to teach our students to be comfortable with the idea of reinventing and marketing themselves in their professional lives. It’s our job to strengthen confidence helping a child discover WHO they are so that WHAT they do doesn’t become their identity. WHAT they do will be fluid. And, the child will have the courage and ability to reinvent their professional career as many times as they want or need. Here is the full article from Careers Advice Online: http://www.careers-advice-online.com/career-change-statistics.html. And, according to Kai-Fu Lee, author of AI Superpowers, 40% of jobs in the world will be displaced.

Artificial Intelligence, of course, is a variable that according to Kai-Fu Lee is coming faster than any previous revolution and will affect us more than the change of electricity itself!

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/60-minutes-ai-facial-and-emotional-recognition-how-one-man-is-advancing-artificial-intelligence/

The NSD has been charged with putting 1:1 devices in the hands of each student k-12. To most folks in Nampa, this is somewhat futuristic reminiscent to the old Twilight Zone episodes watched by so many http://x.traiger.net/wp2/?tag=artificial-intelligence. To the global world, this is a crossroad either to be used as a consumable tool or a tool to be used for expression including expressive language and creative expression.

When given this task of using platforms to change the fibers of our education here at Roosevelt, I began looking at what our future looks like in 15 years. Of course, I think of my own 4th grader now, who will be 24 years old and in infancy stages of her career. Just like you, I want her prepared for a future where she’s excited about life and what she’s doing each and every day!
