I LOVE using Nearpod to help manage large LLs (and also have an easy way to check engagement/participating, even after the fact). Draw it slides show their thinking. Drag and drop activities. If you want help with this let me know - it's GREAT! Students have been really good about navigating the chat and Nearpod at the same time without any issues. Have them log in with GCISD accounts so you know who it is.

In Canvas, download your gradebook weekly and copy/paste over student averages to help you keep a hotlist, see progress from week to week (is the student just failing this week, or have they been failing every week but their grade crawling up?). Use =filter formula to generate the hot list every week

Use Messages for texting. Go to contacts.google.com to edit your student and parent contacts. Name them strategically (ex, John Doe who is an 8th grade adv science student would be in my contact as John 8S* as first name and Doe for last name. Parent would be Jane (John 8S* Doe) Doe. This lets me know what grade level/class the student is in (or the parent) as soon as they reach out.

When using Google Forms, lock it to 'GCISD' only and instruct students to sign into their district account if they don't have access. That way, you have their unique school email every time they submit something and can keep track (ex: for weekly LL exit tickets, you can pull your roster from Skyward, and use the =countif formula to check the box if they've turned it in. You can then have a 'dashboard' to see at a glance if students have turned in things. Reach out to Fedorko if you need help setting up!

Same for any other form thing (Extra credit assignment, etc).

You can set it to send you an email whenever a student submits if it's something not super commonly submitted.
