Redwall series by Brian Jacques

Do you love battle, romance and adventure? Pirates, animals, friendship and perilous quests? Any of the Redwall series will be a delicious wordy meal for you! The series begins with the book "Martin the Warrior." All the characters are different kinds of animals, which, if I'm honest, is a nice break from annoying humans! Martin is a mouse slave tortured by an evil tyrant. He escapes in a shipwreck and befriends a group of mice, moles, rabbits and other creatures. Martin ends up defeating the tyrant and freeing many animals. The stories continue with different characters and villains. I would love for the series to be made into movies or a show, especially because there are over 16 books in this series! The settings sparkle with creativity, the plots are full of twists that will leave you hanging, and the characters have fascinating personalities and conflicts with each other. I also love that they are always eating delicious food. Reading these books as a child made me want to learn to cook and I often think about elderflower tarts and honey bread as I bake at home. This series is a must-read for fantasy lovers! You're still reading this? Go get a book and get started!! Btw, my personal favorites are "Mariel of Redwall" and "Pearls of Lutra," because I love strong female protagonists and ocean settings.

'Shadow House: You Can't Hide' is the 2nd book of a 4-book series that's filled with horror, sarcasm, and curiosity. 5 kids, Poppy, Marcus, Dash, Dylan, and Azumi all get invited and trapped in a sinister estate. There's plenty of twists and turns in this story, not just among the characters but the house too! This series has lots of cliffhangers and little photos. This book has a great way of bringing in new characters and changes to the story. I think these books would make for some great movies, they've got plenty of action, surprises, and overall have a great plot.

Names of the series in order:
Shadow House: The Gathering
Shadow House: You Can't Hide
Shadow House: No Way Out
Shadow House: The Missing

By Tinsley M Duecy

On A Sunbeam by Tille Walden

Do you enjoy reading about romance, space, drama and adventure? Then read On A Sunbeam. This book is a graphic novel, about two characters named Grace and Mia, they fall in love when they meet each other in detention at the school in space called "Cleary's". Grace`s sisters then have to take Grace back home because of their mom and they tell Grace that if she goes later then she might never see her mom again. Mia finds out Grace is from "The staircase" which is on a dangerous planet. Mia is devastated. After 5 years since Grace moved away from the school, Mia`s crew decides to help Mia see Grace again. Scouts who work for Grace`s mom are hunting Mia and her crew. Especially a certain character who used to be on the planet who killed an ancient creature because the creature killed someone important to them. This book is one of the books I actually enjoyed reading for my homework, which is not many. I would definitely read this book again, even when it's not for my homework. This book does contain gore towards the end of the book, and there is swearing. But if you don't mind that, I recommend this book a lot! Okay, YES this should definitely be a movie this book is amazing! I think that they chose the title because that's the meaning of the ships name when they go to the planet Grace is at. I haven't read another book made by the same author, but I'm sure their other books are amazing. I don't have a favorite character because I like all of Mia`s crew and Grace. And finally, I wouldn`t change the title it's a creative title for the book.- Norah

Do you like secrets and mysteries? Adventures and more? Well, this book is full of them. This is the fourth book in a five-book series. A kid named Gregor takes a big step in this book, to almost dying to things you thought would never happen. In this book you reunite with an old snow-white friend. Gregor also fines an emotion that he isn't used to at all, an emotion to bring him all the way. the marks of secret are lurking were ever you go. Ripred (my favorite character) is back to being sarcastic and a new prophecy is uncovered to Gregor's eyes. This is the fourth book in the series, I've read all four of them and there all as spectacular as this one. I would not change one thing about this book at all. I think that this book has a lot of potential for a movie adaptation.

Do you like violence, romance, violence, politics, and more violence? Well, you need to get book. Book have all the stuff that I just listed. it's about a post-apocalyptic world where the government thinks it's okay to make twenty something people fight to the death. there's also this girl who this book is about named Katniss Everdeen (who has impeccable aim). most of the names in this book are really weird, like Peeta, Hazzele, and Gale. Anyway, this book is about Katniss. So, she gets drafted into the Hunger Games (OH MY GORSH DANG DIDDLY, ITS THE NAME OF THE BOOK) which is a ''game'' where they put a boy and a girl from each district into an arena, and they're supposed to fight to the death. So, Katniss basically just has to survive or kill everyone else or be killed herself. except the last book is basically just politics.

this was made by Evan Oesterheld.

Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan (Nora Rowley)

Echo is a thrilling novel about a somewhat magical harmonica that finds its way into three different characters' lives and guides them along their journey and helps with conflict, mind you each character being in drastically different areas and throughout the course of multiple years.

The story starts off with a fairy-tale of sorts, in a kingdom far away a Queen gave birth to three times - each time a girl, and each time the King has ordered one of the midwifes to take it out to the forest and leave it for the wolfs (this is because his eldest child had to be a son or else his brother would take the throne after death), however the midwife couldn't bring herself to do it to any of the children, instead she brought them all to her mean witch sister in the woods'; as even that would be a better fate than death. The witch names the three sisters Eins, Zwei, and Drei - as to remember which came first, second, and third, every time, however, just before the midwife had handed the children to the witch the midwife said to all of them, "Your fate is not yet sealed. Even in the darkest night, a star will shine, a bell will chime, a path will be revealed.", this was done to seal their prophecy. Years later - after the King's death and his son took the throne the midwife came back to the cottage to take the sisters back to the palace - however, this angered the witch, so she cursed them to be stuck in the forest - the only possibility of being freed was by a wind instrument.

After the story ends, we get introduced to the first character, Friedrich in 1933, Germany; a twelve-year old boy living with only his father as his sister was away in nursing school - however, he did see his Uncle Grunter almost every day as they worked in the same harmonica factory: Friedrich didn't attend school as the other kids would bully him for his "strangeness" (his birthmark on his face, how he had an imaginary friend he always talked to and claimed he sat next to, and would pretend to conduct an orchestra) - however, he did still get an education, as the workers would teach him on their free time/breaks. One day, during his lunch break, he heard beautiful music coming from the graveyard - as he went to investigate the music, it suddenly stopped, and the only remains of it was a special harmonica with a red "M" painted on to it. When playing it, it made him feel different from when he played other harmonicas, it made him feel lightweight and free. Around this time in history, it was the rise of the Nazi party in Germany, which is a main point of conflict in this story for many reasons: for starters, when Friedrich's sister, Elisabeth, came home after months of being away in nursing school it turned out that she was now a follower/apart of Hitler/the Nazi party - however, Friedrich and his father were both heavily against the Nazi's, again, another conflict in the story as, at the time, it was dangerous to be against them - and they were at risk of being sent to Dachau; a work prison meant to turn people to the Nazi party. While there is a lot of conflict in the story it all builds up to the turning point were Friedrich's father gets sent to Dachau and Friedrich has to go live with his uncle - though tensions are still high as they know they have to get him out of there somehow, and both fear that they may be the next to go. They come up with a plan however they are unsure of how to get the funds - nor if it will be successful.

As the story ends, we get see the next character of the story - Mike in 1935 Pennsylvania, with a little brother named Frankie - who are both in The Bishop's Home for Friendless and Destitute Children - or an orphanage, it so happened that the woman who ran it, Mrs./Ms./Miss. (I don't believe it was every stated, sorry) Pennyweather (not finished - will finish summary just thought it would be good to answer questions)

While I haven't read any other books by Pam Muñoz Ryan, I have heard they were spectacular and judging by this book I believe they probably are - I love Echo because not only are the characters and stories interesting, the mention and the importance of music in the book is wonderful as well and I feel as it resonates with the common idea/saying that music is a universal language. While not everything, I would like to mention that the ending of each story always left me with a heavy heart as they ended on a cliffhanger of something bad just happening (not finished - I will finish the summary I just thought I should answer the questions as well.)

While I haven't read any other books by Pam Muñoz Ryan, I have heard that they are fantastic - and based off this book I certainly believe it. I love Echo for many reasons, for starters, all the characters are incredibly unique and interesting - as well as their storylines, however, I personally also like how they're all realistic in a sense (ex. the conflicts are all very real and aren't very exaggerated), despite the storyline of the magic harmonica. One thing I believe Echo does very well is how it ends each character's part - each time it ends just as something bad happens, it leaves your heart heavy and (not finished)

I would love to have this made into a movie which it is going to be made soon. I think the author chose that title because of the story in the book about the family the Vanderbeekers who live in New York city.

If you like incredible, unbelievable adventures, gore-filled nights of death, and cliffhanger beyond your imagination, then you should read "Hatchet." There is a character throughout the whole story who battles gross animals, foods, and disasters all throughout the whole story after being stranded in the middle of the Canadian Wilderness with only a hatchet his mother gave him before his private plane took off and crashed in the woods. Gary Paulsen does an incredible job describing everything that happens, which, if you do not like utterly disgusting descriptions, you may want to think about before reading. Brian, the boy who is trying to survive is an amazing character, who throughout the story you see his brains, capability, and bravery shine. He finds resources in places I would never think of, and is an incredible character put together and perfect for the story. This book would be the best movie ever because the illustrations it makes in your head would be amazing to see in full action. The adventures he has would be hard to film, but so suspenseful and AMAZING! Hatchet is an amazing title for this story because of the hatchet in the book, the hatchet means a lot to him because it's from his mom. He finds many uses for the hatchet, from chopping wood, to starting fires, to killing animals. He is defiant and will not let any animal, force of nature, or conflict stop him from surviving... Or will he?
-Karis

This is my third review lol. Amazing art and mystery of an anonymous chain letter and necklace after ignoring and trashing the chain letter. The characters are Kristy (president), Claudia (vice president, Dawn (treasurer) Jessi and Mallory (junior officers), and finally the main character. Mary Anne (secretary). One day, Mary Anne hears Grace and Cokie talking bad about the baby-sitter's club. So, she confronts them Infront of everyone and embarrasses them. She then goes to check her mail finding one addressed to her. and takes it to the club meeting. Then is disappointed to find out its a chain letter. It reads "send this to 20 people and continue the chain for good luck or break the chain and receive bad luck upon you and your loved ones and friends." Nobody wants to deal with the "superstition" and send it to 20 people. So, she crumbles the letter and throws it away. The following days bad luck is experienced upon her and her friends. And a couple days later she comes to another meeting with a box addressed to her and the club. And it's a necklace with a note saying that it's a supposed bad luck charm. Read the book to find out who has been sending the letters and to see them solve the mystery and get revenge! This is my second time reading it! Questions: Should this book be made into a movie?: Yes, this would be a decent movie. Have you read anything else by this author?: I haven't read anything else by this author but when I see another babysitters club book, I'll most likely get it. Who is your favorite character and why?: I don`t really have a favorite character, maybe Claudia because she`s creative, and I like her style and hair. Why do you think the author chose the book title?: The author chose the book title because their club is called the babysitters club and they babysit and no I wouldn`t change it. - review by Norah M :).

Ahh yes, a classic. Who doesn't know the riveting tale of this poor old man, who gets kidnapped by the wanted criminal Sam I Am. (is his name even Sam?) As he takes the unnamed individual on a dangerous horrible adventure putting the man in harm's way, all for eggs and ham, that are so old there, molding. Due to common sense, he doesn't want the poisoned food, although Sam wouldn't let him go until he did. Threatening him with animals, taking him on a car ride, train ride, almost drowning him in the process. Yes, Sam as he says he is, is a criminal, a truly sick being. but that's not where the story ends, Dr. Seus, A children book writer made a book of this horrific tale and made it into a kid's book. A KIDS BOOK! Children like you and I (or teacher if you're reading this) should not have had to witness this terrible experience at such a young age. it got so popular they made a Netflix show of it, of a criminal! Sam is still at large; he needs to be put in jail where he belongs. he's torturing poor innocent people every day with his Moldy Breakfast food. beware, lock your doors, keep quiet, or you may have an experience, with Sam I Am, and his Green Eggs and Ham.

This book is the second book in a series called Heros of Olympus. This series is a sequel to another series called Percy Jakson. A warning that I would give you before you read any book from this series to read all of Percy Jakson. But back to the Son of Neptune, this author (Rick Riordan) chose this book Title (Son of Neptune) cause of Percy who is the son of Posiden. Neptune is Posiden Romen name. My favorite character in this book is definitely Persy all the way. He is funny and very powerful, with a couple down sides. I chose this book because of its action, and insight of the Greek and Romen History and Mythology. I would absolutely not change anything at all, It's the perfect book for me and a lot of other people. My opinion on making a Movie is wavery so at first, I would say no.

Do you like adventure, comedy, and detail so good you sink into the story yourself? if so, Land of Stories is the book series you would want to read! The series land of stories is about two siblings who find out a secret passageway to the magical land of stories. Alex and Conner Baliey stick together no matter what! They find friends along the way from talking frogs to fearless warriors to pretty princesses. In the very first book, Alex Baliey is the smartest kid in her class, but all the girls in her class bullies her so much that she just wishes she could travel to a different world, somewhere where people would treat her differently. That all changes when her grandmother gives Alex and Conner a book with all of the mystical stories they used to hear when they visited their grandmother! I chose this book because sometimes I feel like Alex, sometimes I wish I could travel to a different world. I have read two out of the 5 books, but I am on my way to the 3rd book! I would L-O-V-E to have the land of stories made into a movie. it would be full of suspense and adventurous moments that everyone would enjoy. I wouldn't want to change the book title because it fits well with the story.

I chose to read this book because something that happens in the book is very similar to something that happened to a friend of mine. This book is so heartwarming and sad. "The Only Road" is about a boy called Jamie. Jamie lives in a town ruled by a gang called "The Alphas". The Alphas terrorize the town with their wild antics. I have never read any other books by this author. But there is a sequel to The Only Road, called "The Crossroads". Once I finish this book, I plan on reading The Crossroads.

My favorite character is the abuela. She is a very minor character, but when Jamie and his cousin set off on an adventure, she makes them a feast. She is the type of grandma that doesn't let leave until you finish everything on you plate. The abuela is only a part of a few pages, but on those few pages, her character shows through the tough skin. How, even when her and her family can barely afford good food, she makes a fantastic meal for her grandchildren.

I believe Alexandra Diaz chose the title because the main character, Jamie, only has one choice. One road. Once the Alphas harm his family and threaten to harm him too, Jamie's world is undone. In his new world, it is harm or be harmed. Not wanting to suffer, Jamie's mother makes him go. Jamie has no choice. This title suits the book's theme. I would not change the title of this book.

I would love it if this book was made into a movie. I would watch it. The movie would be very sad and heartwarming. I have not read all of this book, but so far, so good. "The Only Road" would be one of the best movies.

My mom had chosen the first one when it came out and then I liked it, so we kept reading them. I have read all of the 6 books (Vanderbeekers on 141st street, Vanderbeekers and the hidden garden, Vanderbeekers to the rescue, Vanderbeekers lost and found, Vanderbeekers make a wish, Vanderbeekers on the road) and the last one is coming out in September. My favorite characters are Isa (one of the oldest twins) because she plays the violin and I play the violin, so I can relate to her. I can also relate to Lanny (the youngest) because she is very enthusiastic about meeting new people, and I love to talk to people. I also relate to Hyacinth because she is very creative, and I enjoy artsy crafty activities. I think the tittles were chosen because they do lots of community projects and Vanderbeekers is their last name.

bounce back is about, Lillico, a girl who moves from her homeland, Japan to America, she has to start all the way from zero and work her way up again. Along the way she meets Nala and Henery who instantly become her best friends. Lillico desperately wants to be on the basketball team, but a mean girl Emma (team captain) won't let her. when Emma throws Lillico's special basketball that her friends from Japan gave her, nala becomes furious with Emma (her former bff). Later Lillico meets Noah a guy who asks her if she wants to go one-on-one with her. I chose this book because I thought that it would be a good read, because I am new to this school. my favorite character is Nala I love her independent spirit strong will and how she makes all of her clothes. I think Misako (author) chose this because Lillico plays basketball then has to move to a new state. I would not change the ending; I think it is a great representation of how the book is laid out. I would love it to be a movie, I think it would be cool if I could see the characters not in cartoon form.

Dairy of a pug is a really fun book to read. First it has a young girl named Bella. She is bubs owner bub is the pug in the book who likes fashion and peanut butter. But dislikes the rain, and baths. And bub also does not like a pesky like squirrel named Nutz. Bubs and Bella go on trips. And also, I love his book because. bub is so brave, and he makes Bella feel safe anywhere they go. And when she really needs something, bubs go to the store with her. He is caring to because even if it rains if Bella needs something he goes with her to get it even though he hates the rain. And Bella gives him a treat after all he does for her the treat is peanut butter of course.

I really suggest that you read the book and all the other ones in the series like I am trying to do. I am really glad the made movies off the Horry Potter series, but if I was able to change anything I would add more things from the books. I really suggest you read the book series.

Do you like cats, adventure, and tension? Than this book is for you. This is about a moor (Wind clan cat), that has parents that are tunnlers, but Tallpaw wanted to become a moor runner. Than one day, his father died in a tunnel, with a rogue cat, Sparrow. Tallpaw thought Sparrow left Sandgourse to die, and when Tallpaw wanted to switch to be a tunnler, the clan leader banned tunneling for all Windclan. Even though Tallpaw earned his warrior name, Talltail he was still angry. Then one day, he went beyond the territories, to go get revenge for Sparrow "killing" his father. This would be a great movie, because it has a lot of action/ adventure, and tension. Read this awesome book to find out what happens on this exiting adventure!

This is the story of a little girl that went through so much. Too much.
I chose this book because my mom told me to read it. I am grateful that I did. It is such an inspirational story. I have read the sequel to this story called "The War I Finally Won". My favorite character is the main character. Ada. She went through so much as a cripple and is desperate to be accepted by her mother. She was raised to believe that she was a monster because of her foot. She is persistent and strong. I believe that the author chose this book title because this story takes place during World War II. London is Ada's home. Jamie, Ada's younger brother, is allowed to venture outside while Ada has never left her window. One day Jamie comes back with the news that the children are being sent off on trains. They are leaving because of bombs. Ada and Jamie leave on a train, they escape from their mother. this is why I think Kimberly Brubaker Bradley chose the title. I love the title. It pulls you in without even reading the book. I would love this book made into a movie. I would love to see the characters portrayed in something other than my own imagination.

Eleven is a very entertaining mystery book. It is about a kid turning 11 and has always wanted to have a dog, although once he got one his father had gone missing. It was so scary for him, he thought he would have to give up his dog forever and get rid of the dog. Read to find out who the man in the white shirt is and find his dad. In my opinion I think this would make an amazing movie, many people would enjoy it. The author chose this name because it is the main characters age. It takes place in New York, in 2013. I really do recommend this book for people who enjoy mystery!

Everyone starts by taking about how suspenseful, incredible, and intriguing their book is. I have yet another book filled to the brim with blood-curdling, cliffhanging scenes just waiting to be read! "Catching Fire" is the 2nd book in The Hunger Games Trilogy. In short, the Hunger Games is a game held every year by the capitol where the districts each send one boy and one girl reaped from glass bowls to fight to the death in a designed arena. Katniss Everdeen is a teenage girl living in district twelve, on the morning of the reaping, when she hears her sister's name called, she immediately volunteers. By the end of the book, when tensions are high, Katniss decides to pull a stunt. A stunt that comes back to haunt her in "Catching Fire."

The victors of the games are told they will never be reaped again, but when the mysterious quarter quell comes into play, things will change for the worst. It's the 75th annual Hunger Games, and that means something, something not particularly in the tributes favor. The past quarter quells have been double the amount of tributes and to vote for the tributes. What would happen this time? Who would be on whose side? Who is the enemy? When will the awful Hunger Games end?

In Catching Fire, you hear Suzanne Collins' voice calling you back in. Even after you put the book down, you want to read the words again. Suzanne Collins wrote "Gregor the Overlander" as well, and even though it's the same person writing it, you get similar vibes to Gregor, and very different vibes all at the same time! I read this book after it had been recommended to me multiple times by multiple friends.

My favorite character is Prim, Katniss's sister. Prim grows throughout the books, matures, and becomes more and more like her sister, but also her own person. Prim is intelligent, responsible, and a character that might not get a lot of praise, but saves many lives. Prim is Katniss's most prized possession, and Katniss won't let anything hurt Primrose. Ever.

Oh, and the movie! Don't even get me started on it, the movie is one of those few movies where the movie is actually pretty decent compared to the book. It captures a lot of the details, and most of the actors play their characters well.

Definitely read this book. Even if it doesn't sound good to you, because I'm telling you, I have never met a single person who said even that they thought they were good. All I've heard is, "Oh my goodness, the Hunger Games are the literal best!"

Shadow and Bone is a three-book series. The first book is about a girl named Alina Starkov, who is an orphan mapmaker. Finding out her great power. Alina later finds out the secrets of the Darkling and figures out how to summon her power. She and her best friend, Mal, run off together. They end up on the other side of the Fold. Where would they go now? This book series already has a Netflix show. I like the title, but I don't get why the author chose it. The first book is called Soldier, which I think is accurate because she is a soldier mapmaker. Genya Safin is my favorite character. She is a tailor Grisha (magic user), and she is the first Grisha we get to know personally other than the main character.

Sophie is a lovely princess, and is Agatha, a sulky girl who lives in a graveyard. So, everyone, even the girls, assume that when the school master (a shadow that kidnaps one evil child and one good child a year) comes, Sophie will be taken for good, and Agatha for bad. One night, the school master plucks the two friends from their beds, but drops Agatha off at good's palace, then leaves Sophie at evil's place. Join Sophie and Agatha, as they try to find a way home, and learn the hard way that everyone has both evil and good in their hearts.

Camp Green Lake doesn't actually have a lake, it's a prison camp for troubled boys. Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats, who got sent to the camp for stealing a famous baseball player's shoes. Stanley was walking home after getting his notebook back from the bullies at his school, and suddenly the shoes fall on stop of his head! We get to learn about how Stanley always is in the wrong place at the wrong time because of his "no-good-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather' that cursed the family with bad luck. Every day the boys have to dig a hole that is five feet wide, and five feet deep. The Warden and counselors there say they have to dig because it "builds character," but is that the real reason? My class read this last year, and we all loved how suspenseful this book is, and how the small clues/stories in the book all tie together at the end.

When you lay eyes on this book, and begin to indulge in the story of, "The Outsiders", you will never put it down. In this book a young family faced by cultural divide gets hit by a massive wave of problems. You will find lots of elements of hatred, society on man, and the pain of losing ones you love. This book is indeed intense so if you are of a lighthearted manner, be weary. Still, I recommend this book for anyone who likes suspense and a feeling of being on the edge of your chair. I have three words, Read This Book!

The Outsiders is about two groups in Oklahoma, the book is also set in the 1960's. The two groups are The Greasers and The Socs which is an abbreviation for socials. The Socs are the rich people who live on the west side of Oklahoma, The Greasers are the more poor people in this story they have slicked back hair with the grease in their hair. This story is highly intense and there a lots of twists almost like a pigs tail! I recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense but this is a great book so instead of reading thiis review go read the book!!
