Gaming since quarantine.

At the beginning of quarantine, I wasn’t as good at gaming as I am now. I placed like 50,000 in the world in the cashcups at the beginning and in August, I placed in the top 3000. It doesn’t sound that good, but that is a significant difference than the 50,000 prior. Then, Epic games most famous game fortnite, got taken down by Apple for evading the 30% game fee on purchases. On that day, I had to adapt to playing on Xbox then. I couldn’t get back into the rhythm and lost every game in cash cup and placed 30th or 40th. However, I got a pc, and an no time i have climbed back up to my position. I have grown so much more, more than I would have ever been able to grow on iPad. I have also gotten top 200 out of 1.7 million people in other games such as for a horizon 4, putting me in the top 1% of the game.

When we first heard about COVID, people thought it was nothing, until it started to grow massively, and that is finally when things started to shut down. For example, I was supposed to go on a cruise for spring break, but 6 or 7 days before we left, it was shut down because of COVID. Besides that though, my family and I still had a good summer. What we did was get on our boat and drive it from fort. Lauderdale to Jacksonville to Charleston to Norfolk to Annapolis. (We went to many other places, but I just naked some big ones.) We saw that the more north we went, the more the COVID guidelines were enforced. But with this it wasn’t all sunny and calm waters. It was the complete opposite when crossing passages such as the Chesapeake. The waves were 4-5 to sometimes 6 feet making the ride uneasy. Also in summer we stayed in Wilmington, NC for a week and a half, and during that time we stayed on the beach. Though it was nice, there was the unexpected: A hurricane. A cat 3 hurricane was coming for us and we were on the front lines. Luckily nothing much was destroyed, except for our car’s windshield. Other than that storm and everything, it was beautiful. We got to be with our cousins and go swim in the waves at sun down and at sun rise making the vacation just all that more amazing. After 3 months of traveling, we had to go home to the not, so normal life of school.

In the beginning, I had just assumed it was nothing, but a minor outbreak. Then it came to America and I still assumed it wasn’t anything big, but oh boy was I wrong. Once I had gotten word that school had shut down, that is when I started to worry. I also started to worry when everything like toilet paper and hand sanitizer was going out of stock. I soon went into lockdown mode, or Netflix and Xbox mode, where I was on my devices for 16 out of 24 hours a day. I then moved on to the complete Netflix mode where I would finish a season every day of a show. I then got very bummed out when my summer vacation to Alaska was cancelled and my camp was cancelled as well. Luckily we were able to get on our boat and drive it to Baltimore for the whole summer. Once we got back school, was definitely weird, but it was also cool to be one out of maybe 90 kids at school in 8th grade. Things started to come back to normal, traveling, etc. Vaccines started to be made, but cases were still rising, and now we reached now. People are getting vaccinations, causing the cases to go down, and hopefully by the end of summer mostly everyone will be vaccinated and we will go back to normal.

It will be used to make crossing from San Francisco to LA. When I heard about this I thought it wasn’t going to be possible for at least another 4 years, but it is apparently already here.

The pandemic, probably one of the biggest things of 2020. Since the beginning, I have realized a lot of things since COVID. First, is that I have realized to make sure you live life to the fullest before the things you love are gone. When we got put into COVID I realized just how much I missed the best things, like going outside without a mask, going to a restaurant without a mask, and hanging out with my friends. I have also realized that you shouldn’t go to the beach during COVID or don’t go outside to any popular spots during spring break in Florida. Why, because of the massive outbreak there was on the beach. Another thing that I realized is be patient. I say be patient because, being patient will allow the whole pandemic to pass. If you are anxious and not patient, you will go outside and may get yourself COVID, while patient people will stay inside and play on their devices. By doing this you will be at a lower risk of getting the virus
