1) From being the leader of the birther movement to becoming president-elect, Donald embodied the hypocrisy described by Shakespeare. After spreading viscous lies about President Barrack Obama, Donald completely changed his position and demeanor. Thursday afternoon, the two men appeared together in a formal interview. Chameleon-like Donald, put up a cordial facade when speaking with President Obama, but his previous actions are far from gracious.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/11/us/politics/white-house-transition-obama-trump.html?_r=0
2) During her campaign speech, Melania Trump set-forth her platform as first lady. She plans to combat cyber bullying... how ironic. In response, Lady Gaga called Melania a hypocrite for pledging to stand against cyber bullying because her husband is, "one of the most notorious bullies we have ever witnessed."
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3911966/Lady-Gaga-calls-Melania-Trump-hypocrite-supporting-Donald-pledging-fight-against-cyber-bullying-pop-star-rallies-fans-Hillary-suffragette-inspired-outfit.html#ixzz4PmHLkfg9
3) Corey Lewandowski was Donald's first campaign manager to be fired. He was to weak and inexperienced to handle the difficult undertaking of organizing a national campaign. Despite being fired from the Trump campaign in June, Lewandowski has stayed in close contact with his former co-workers and there has been a lot of speculation about a Lewandowski role in the Trump White House.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/11/11/corey-lewandowski-resigns-cnn-after-visit-trump-tower/93670474/

After my first read of this quote my initial reaction was that "foul" things often appear gracefully but in reality are evil at heart. It's hard to tell people who are genuine and honest from those who are immoral and malevolent. Even evil people cover up their foulness with grace. Sometime it is impossible to distinguish "bad guys" from the "good guys".

"Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace, Yet grace must still look so" Act IV, Scene 3, Lines 22-23
These lines represent the theme initiated by the witches in the opening scene of the play. The three witches chant, "Fair is foul and foul is fair." This paradoxical line really means what looks good may be evil, and what appears to be evil may be good. This theme of the confusion between appearance and reality is demonstrated by the characters of Macbeth. Throughout the play the characters make comments that reveal this theme. Lady Macbeth advises her husband to "look like the innocent flower, But be the serpent under it," and Macbeth declares, "False face must hide What false heart doth know." The Macbeths must conceal their plans to murder Duncan when he arrives at their home so that they won't give anything away. The theme expressed in these lines is that one must appear to be good in order to hide the evil lurking beneath the gracious facade.

Quote in Conversation

1) I first attempted to use my Macbeth quote during a warm up run at rowing practice. I was having a conversation with my teammate Johnathan about how lewd American politics has become. After reciting the partially memorized quote, my friend simply stared at me with a puzzled expression and then proceeded to change the conversation.
2) When talking about Donald, with Francesca Hart I tried a second time to insert the quote into our conversation. After a moment long sideways glare, Francesca put the quote into context and seemed to understand the meaning. However, she did think it was quiet weird.
3) Finally, I utilized the quote to leverage a point I was trying to make when speaking with my mother about the 2016 election. Although her opinion differed from mine, she understood what I meant by using the quote.

The nature of the quote is captured in the hit TV show, House of Cards. In fact, the show itself is a modern adaption and synthesis of Shakespeare's plays, the most obvious being Macbeth. Just like Macbeth. Kevin Spacey's character manipulates his appearance in order to take control of the situation. On the outside he seems genuine, sincere and well intended, but in reality is motivated only by his personal lust for power.
