This made me wonder what were the thoughts American's though of when they heard the term disease. I also wondered how many people were impacted once they saw a quarantine made after the deaths of many. A thought I have regarding disease, is how many diseases can we actually act against, how many are still new to us and we're still learning possible countermeasures? After furthering my research, I think that diseases will continue to grow deadlier as we advance in time, or that diseases could possibly be used to eradicate a whole nation after they could be controlled to a certain point. The text says that “Those suffering the King’s evil had come with the hope that Henry would cure them by simply touching the infected area”.This basically is saying that people wanted the king to touch their infection and believed it would cure them. A thought I have about this is that the King would most likely contract the disease since he is literally touching the area of infection.

This all makes me think of how bad superbugs can really be and  all the things that some humans are doing to help create more of them by their use of unnecessary antibiotics. The article titled "Kids are now getting 'adult' disease showed some insight on to what this disease does to young people. I learned through this article that there are two types of diabetes which do two different things which sounded familiar to me.  However, both forms of diabetes both lead to the same thing, they affect the way people process food with sugars. The difference between the two is how a hormone called insulin is used in the body. Insulin regulates the amount of glucose in a persons blood and in type 1 diabetes, insulin cannot be produced. In people with type 2 diabetes though, their bodies can produce insulin but the body is unable to use it correctly. Doctors have found that there is a link between obesity and diabetes. This makes me wonder if people who eat more sugar and don't workout links with getting infected with diabetes.
