Film name- The after party

At the beginning of the film I believe that it was one of the most key indicators as to what was going to happen to Owen and Levine, it starts with the two friends talking about getting signed onto a record label by someone named Rahmel. In this scene, it starts off with a nice camera angle showing the bottom of a bathroom stall in which Owen and Levine are on the opposite side of beginning to spit a few verses off the top of the head. He thought the guys behind the stall was the owner of the label, the camera angle shows a wide shot of the bottom and then a close up of who is behind the stall and back to Owen and Levine. The story after that goes from a young rapper who has dreams of making it to the big leagues however, he has had constant failures due to his manager and himself. In one instance Levine (Owens’s manager) gets him a performance in front of the Wiz however Levine convinces him to smoke before the performance which goes great at first but once he gets on stage and excites the crowd he vomits on Wiz Khalifa and then has a seizure. This makes him a laughing stock of the internet which causes every label that he tries to get a deal with to decline him. I think that in this part of the story Owen shouldn’t have let himself get peer pressured into something that he knows he doesn’t do for a record label deal it could have been, the guy in the stall recorded his lyrics and became famous off of them and then he has to prove that at a big event those lyrics are actually his. However, after he was made a laughing stock he thought it would be smart to enlist in the marines and give up on his dream because he was tired of failing, so he would follow in his father's footsteps. I think that the acting was pretty good but it needed more energy at times, Owen’s father supported him in his career until he had a seizure and Levine’s took it as a joke when he told his father he was Owen’s manager. It addressed each of the main characters flaws through the eyes of other characters in the film, at some point in most films the characters come to a consensus that they have problems that they need to solve but in this film the characters Owen doesn’t recognize his flaws and neither does Levine even when it continuously gets them in trouble. So, the film uses the characters around them to inform them of their flaws such as Levine constantly trying to pretend to be something that he is not so he comes off as a jerk sometimes, But Owen doesn’t know that he is very subjectable to Levine's lies and is afraid to perform after he vomited on Wiz Khalifa. These are things that characters should realize about themselves at some point in their life but feel like if there weren’t specific characters to point out these flaws then they would have never been addressed by anyone at all. when I watched

this film has interesting camera angles to say the least most of the shots highlight Owen(on the left) and Levine(on the right) making different faces that highlight their facial features. I would say that the camera angles were good and do not need many critiques, even in scenes when it is very little lighting they make sure the viewer is able to see what is going on in each scene. Through the use of the camera I was able to see how it would highlight the outfits of each character and it shows the difference in their characteristics, such as the woman Bl'asia shown in the middle you can see her fur coat, her make up and the environment that surrounds them. In some scenes you can tell it is New York city, and because the film mostly takes place at night you are able to see more colorful outfits as they are worn by the characters.

what I hear

romantic music, custom music from Kyle and other well-known rappers, ambient sounds, furthers the story line and lets the audience know how the characters feel, party music, a character is famous due to a nickname given to him when he had a seizure, I hear triumphant music. In most of the cut scenes you tend to hear popular songs from Kyle, Jadakiss and other well known artists that are currently out right now, some of them are from New York which also give away the location of the movie to me. the dialogue that each character uses gives away a bit of their personality as well such as Levine when he constantly tries to use slang when he talks and ends up trying to be someone he is not, Or Owen when he speaks you can tell that he is confused about his career and doesn't really want to do it anymore after he has an incident on stage. Each character plays a role in furthering the story line of both Owen and Levine as they go through some personal growth throughout the film, Levine gets advice from a wise stripper/prostitute who he ends up falling in love with due to her wisdom. Owen on the other hand acquired the courage to rap again from his friend Levine during in argument between the two of them that resulted in a huge public humiliation for Levine. In the beginning I was wondering why this movie was called the after party and by the end of the movie it lets you know, because at the after party that's where each characters life started to turn around for the better. From the colors to the music, outfits and even the dialogue it made me feel like I was apart of the movie because most of the characters were wearing traditional name brand clothes instead of those expensive $900 an outfit kind of brands, it made me feel like this is what most up and coming rappers have to experience( the low social standing, not being known by anyone and basically blowing every chance he had onec he had a seizure at his first performance and threw up on Wiz khalifa which was the person ready to sign him).
