She went to school in Syria until 2019 when her father died in the war. Together with her mother and 5 siblings they fled the war and moved to Turkey. She had immense adaptation problems and this affected her already shy demeanor. Being a refugee in a expanding circle country, she was not easily able to communicate with her limited English language knowledge. As she started acquiring a second L2 - Turkish - she was also able to better her English. This is mainly because the most common way of teaching English in Turkey is the traditional grammar translation method.
