New Zealand

New Zealand is located in Oceania and consist of tow big islands and a smaller one. Northern island and south island are the tow bigger islands and the smallest is Stewart island.

The population in New Zealand is 4,7 million.

The Capital city is Wellington even if Auckland is bigger and had more population than Wellington .

Wellington is located in the south of northern island.

History

New Zealand was discovered by Polynesian people or also cald kupe maoris around year 1250. They came from the Polynesian aria and then they decided to explore by their wooden wakas (tree boats), and then they found New Zealand, so they then decided to stay.

That means that they had been determined. They had a good cooperation and also the strength of vision to make it.

Some years later New Zealand was ”discovered” again by the European people. The British kingdom decided to make colonies in New Zealand which already had Maoris living the at the same time.

That did’t the Maoris like. Why would the European people take over their own home? The Maoris had found the island first. So what the Maoris did was to declared war agents the British crown. They had to defend their new found home.

If that wasn't engnufh there also was wars between different Maori tribes.

The wars lasted under the 19th century.

How did the war between Britain and the maoris end?

Some years later, the British crown did an agreement, to that it would be okey if New Zealand would be an British colony. So on 6th February 1840 the Waitangi- agreement was signed, the maoris agreed that New Zealand would be an British colony and that the British royalty would be in charge.

So the royalty in Britain seed that the Maoris would keep some land of theirs and that every one would be equal even if you where a Maori.

Since then they have lived in peace.

The Original culture

The original culture is the Maori culture. There culture is very unique and dynamic. The culture affects the language and art.

The culture gives love to the outdoors, sports and art and makes the culture unique around the world.

Things you can do in New Zealand

If you are interested of learning something new about the history of New Zealand you should defiantly visit the Maoris and there culture. You can see for example> Kapa Haka, that is a Maori performance, you can also see Maori art and much more.

Who knows, you maybe learn something new?

If you are more in too adventure and adrenalin kicks and if you want to challenge your self, you should deftly try the dungy jump. The drop from the platform down to the Lake Taupo is 47m which is pretty high up.

Meany movies have bin recorded in New Zealand. But there is tow movies that did a huge success that meany people know.

You maybe recognize this little house?
