If we understand the Trump admin as a divergence from the status quo, we will probably see a return to the status quo positions of the US. The Trump admin was a lot about the promotion of either personal interests or really US-centric/domestic narratives. Trump admin did not opposed Russia a lot. Return to the liberal peace discourse by Biden admin. Some trends at the level of the international system (move from unipolarity to multipolarity) will not be reversed by Biden admin because are tied to factors more macro than one US presidential election.

mediation and PKO are tools for resolving conflicts and, as such, mechanisms of the existing security governance under the UN system
WBG's Pathways to Peace argue that traditional tools for diplomacy are not applicable to the new settings.
Mediation requires timeliness/ripeness. States felt compelled to start using mediation as a cost-saving method (rather than sending in more troops), but if the situation is not 'ripe' for mediation, (no peace to keep) you need a stronger military force anyway to enforce a mediation that is not ready.
