We are three students from the Official School of Languages. We are aware that you love Leganes, and we know that the best way to live an Erasmus is going to a party and having fun with some friends. There is an amazing and cheap pub that is called La Posada, which is perfect to have a real Spanish party. It is in La Cubierta, a place in Leganes where you can go by underground. You should take line 12 of Metrosur and get out of the tube in ‘Casa del Reloj’. We hope to see you there.

It is called Polvoranca and it is located between Leganés and Arroyo Cuelebro. It is well-known as it is a natural park which has two lakes that are gorgeous. In addition, you can go for a picnic, take some really good photos, create new TikTok videos and do exercise!

Now that spring is coming, that park will be trendy, so it will have a great atmosphere!🏞️

Hi Dana,

We are two students from the Official School of Lenguages in Leganés. We watched your video on TikTok and we are going to give you a suggestion. We think that you will like Kaligulas. It is a bar where you only pay the drink and you can eat and try different "tapas". For example "croquetas", some stir fries, a portion of Spanish omelette, ham, "bravas" potatoes... Besides, the atmosphere is so good because you can listen to Spanish music and make new friends.

We're Irene and Laura. We live in Leganés and we saw your video on Tik Tok. We want to recommend to you an American restaurant called Twister Food and Rock where you can eat different types of hamburgers and try different brands of beer. We like it because you can choose the size of your hamburger, how you want the meat cooked and the ingredients. There are a lot of combinations for cheap prices. This restaurant is near the University, so you can go with your classmates for lunch or dinner after classes.

We're Celia and Rebeca, students from the Official School of Languages. We're very proud of our town, Leganés, and, for this reason, we were ecstatic when we saw your TikTok.

You've visited a lot of places, but let us give you one more recommendation. Every Friday morning there is a flea market that takes place near your university. There you can grab some bargains or buy low-cost clothes. Also, you can find local products or just go to have a look.

We don't know how typical flea markets are in Toronto, but here we're very into them. If you are interested in them, we can give you more details.

Hi Dana,

We are three English students from EOI Leganés. Our names are Silvia, Sergio and Thalita. We have watched your TikTok, it’s amazing!

During your time in Leganés, we’d like you to go to PARQUESUR, it’s a huge shopping mall, where you can do many things like going shopping, to the cinema or bowling. Besides, you have a lot of junk food and healthy restaurants and also many places with Spanish food like Hotel Parquesur, where you can taste “paella", "croquetas", "tortilla de patatas” and other really good dishes.

To end your day, you should have a drink in the outside pubs located around the lake, while you can enjoy the lights, water and music performances.

 We are looking forward to hearing from you or watching a new TikTok.

Church of San Salvador 

Hi Dana :D,

We are so happy to see that you have liked our town, Leganés. We would like to recommend you a very special place to visit while you are staying here, not only because of its beauty, but also because it's a very important place.

The Church of San Salvador is located in Plaza de España, 8. It's a very ancient church since it was constructed around the XVI century. Inside the church there is an altarpiece of great artistic value made by the famous architect José Benito Churriguera.

 Come and visit it. It's incredible and you won't regret it!

The Royal Palace 

Hey Dana!

We are three students from The Official School of Languages in Leganés. We are very happy that you are enjoying Madrid and we would like to suggest another beautiful place to visit. We love The Royal Palace of Madrid, it is stunning! And we think you will like it as well.

 The nearest a Metro station is Opera, in case you feel like going there. The Royal Palace is a huge white building which you can enter and is located in a beautiful square. Next to it you can find Sabatini’s Gardens and also Almudena’s Cathedral, from where you can have a gorgeous view of Madrid.

Butarque Lake, a nice place to visit in Leganés 

Hi Dana,

We are Ana, David and Luismi from the EOI (OfficialSchool of Languages).

We are writing to you regarding your TikTok video about Leganés. We want to discover you a nice place that probably you have not visited yet. It is the Butarque Park.

 You'll find a lake there , which is the spring of the Butarque river, and some forestal tracks to walk through the park. At the end of the paths you can relax in a stunning restaurant with a huge terrace to drink, eat and enjoy live music.

We are two students from the Official School of Languages in Leganés. We are delighted that  you love Leganés and we would like to recommend you an original place in our neighbourhood, The Museum of Sculptures.  

As its name says, it is an outdoor museum located in a park near the bullring. There are gigantic sculptures, such as a huge chair, or abstract figures of modern art that you have never seen! You can take a lot of original photos for your Instagram!

The best time to visit it is in spring due to the beauty of its flowers!

Hi Dana, 

We are César and Álvaro, nice to meet you! We would like to share a couple of pieces of advice and tips in order to help you enjoying your Erasmus in Spain. We are from Toledo, which is 30 minutes away by train from Atocha train station. Toledo is a historical city where you can find a medieval architecture and enjoy the night because it is full of students from the whole community.

 One of the iconic places in Toledo is Zocodover Square, this is the downtown of the city where you can find local bakeries during the day and pubs and clubs at night. We have been a few times in a club called Cafe Trópico; if you like parties, you will love this bar.

 Also, we recommend spending time visiting huge historical buildings such as the Alcázar (a fortress) and the Cathedral. Finally, we'd like to suggest you a nice restaurant, La Abadía. We hope you will enjoy this experience and your Erasmus. If you have any question or want more recommendations about Toledo or Madrid, don’t hesitate to contact us.

What have you been up to? I'm Rafi, a student from the Leganés Official School of Languages.

I'm glad to hear you liked our town. I'ts a good place to live! I suppose you have already visited the places of interest in our city and I hope you liked them. I would like to propose a place for the weekend. If you like music, you have to visit "WAH". It isn't a musical, it's much more!!! It's a place located in Ifema, in the north of Madrid. I advice you to take a Uber. 

 There, you'll enjoy an amazing show while you have a dinner or a drink. It's a great experiencie, you mustn't miss it. I strongly recommend it!! Let us know if you have gone and what you think of it!

Plaza Mayor of Leganés 

Hi Dana,

We are Alicia, Javi, Sara and Víctor. We all live in Leganés and we are studying English here in the Language School. We want to recommend you the most famous place here, which is Plaza Mayor. This is the main square of Leganés and it's full of bars and restaurants where you can taste delicious Spanish food.

In addition, if you are still here during summer, you can enjoy cultural events, concerts and parties. Even during the rest of the year several cultular acitivities are celebrated there.

We are Alicia and Mercedes. We live in Getafe, a town near Leganés. We want to talk to you about an interesting place called Cerro de los Ángeles. It is a big park with a lot of trees where people go to do sports, to spend a family day or simply to enjoy nature. Also, there is a big monument and a church on the top of the park where many couples in Getafe get married. 

We like it a lot because it is not easy to find a green place so near big cities. As a curiosity, it is said that Cerro de Los Ángeles is the geographic centre of Spain. 

We recommend you visit it and we would like to show it to you.

We have enjoyed your Tik Tok video talking about our city, that's why we want you to know about this marvelous place in Madrid.

 If you are an energetic person, like you showed on your video, you surely will LOVE "El Hachazo". It's a place where you will vent your anger and feel relieved. You will be able to try different types of axes. The aim is to throw them at the target and have a fun time with your friends.

You can take the Renfe train to get to Atocha,because it's really near the station. It's very easy to arrive from Leganés. We hope you will enjoy the experience so much that you can talk about it in your videos.

We are Cecilia and Mónica, students from the Official School of Languages in Leganés. As you loved Leganés so much, we want to recommend you a wonderful place very near: X-Madrid. This is a different and unusual shopping center located in Alcorcón, another town in Madrid. There, you can do many different activities: escape rooms, going to the cinema, climbing, surfing and even diving! Also, you can choose between a wide range of restaurants from around the world: Mexico, Japan, Italy, Turkey...

One more thing: it's pet-friendly and you can even skate inside it!

We are students from the EOI of Leganes, the city you made famous on TikTok. Some of us live in Fuenlabrada, a city next to Leganés, which has some interesting places, but I am going to talk to you about a night club called Vogue. It is one of the best ones in the south of Madrid, and it is managed by the owners of a very famous night club in the center of Madrid: Kapital. You can go to special events such as Halloween or Carnival, even at New Year's Eve to start the year in the best possible way. There are also parties when there is not a special event, so you may not have to wait until a specific event. Inside of it there are different places with different kinds of music, you can meet a lot of people, have fun… Sometimes famous people appear, but not famous at all, better said, people from the Spanish folklore. It is a place to have a very good night, so if you move to Spain and you want to have a good night, this is one of the places you have to go.

We were thinking you might enjoy Polvoranca. It's a huge park, which has a lake, and it's very common to go there with friends and family to have a picnic. There's even a day that's famous because people go there and eat Spanish omelette, or "tortilla española", once a year as kind of a tradition. The place is really big, so you can also do any sort of outdoor activity, like football or even cycling.
