Revision & what our teachers are telling us

- The vibes are not very supportive
- Teachers are expecting us to revise constantly/ do lots of exams but we need more structure without being patronising & giving off stressful energy
- Less focus on the number of exams & more focus on wellbeing & taking breaks!!
- Teachers should acknowledge how difficult the situation is - more encouraging & hype us up!! We need positive reinforcement for motivation
- Scare tactics ARE NOT good motivation!! They are so draining!!
- English teachers <3333 (+ Mr Patrick)
- Levels of feedback - dropping
MORE KINDNESS REQUIRED PLEASE - BE GENTLE WITH US
- It seems like teachers don't trust us to properly revise & so they have to micromanage us - we are adults !! let us make our own choices about what is important to us!! WE NEED MORE TRUST PLEASE
STRATEGIES:
- Tone of voice/more encouragement
- Keep doing, start doing
- POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT (positive reinforcement isn't just about getting good marks - other things are important)
- Taking care to check in with each student & asking them KINDLY about how they are going, encouraging them & suggesting helpful strategies (help to make students feel empowered!!!!!)
- Mentor groups !! - Do we need to revamp?? (less social focus maybe we need more organisational/ helpful strategies)
- Maybe we have a quick meeting with mentor group teachers & tell them what they could be doing
