In this letter i will tell you about my chrismas traditions.

At the beginning of November i decorate the tree and the house for Chrismas.

During this period as a snack i really like to eat panettone and pandoro wich are a kind of mountain-shaped sweet bread that can be filled with chocolate or candied fruit.

On the 25th December i go to the house of some my parents friends to play “tombola delle marocche”(a kind of bingo)there are 30 of us even though the house is small.

in Italy we play a "tombola". this game is very nice. "San Nicolò" gave it to me. In the tradition in Trieste he is a saint who gives gifts to children.

At xMas I go to my grandparents home with my uncle , aunt , cousins , sister and parents.We eat meat and for cake the Pandoro . It is a bread with sugar.

I'm Angelica and I'll tell you how I spend Christmas.

On Christmas Eve my uncles and grandparents come to my house for dinner. When everyone has arrived we sit at the table and start eating. The menù is all fish-based and we have three courses, and dessert at the end. After we finish eating, we play some board games.

When it strikes Midnight we all go to te sofà and unwrap our presents. After finishing unwrapping the presents everyone leaves.

And this is how I spend Christmas.

hi! I'm Sofia and I'll talk about what I do on Christmas.

The day before Christmas, Christmas eve, I usually watch some movies, bake some cookies and cakes and last year I made a gingerbread house! I had a lot of fun!

On Christmas day I wake up and immediately run to open my presents, then I eat breakfast, which is hot chocolate milk and cookies.

For lunch I always go to a restaurant and eat delicious meat with sweet potatoes.

In the evening I play some games with my older sister, like monopoly, and watch some films with my mom.

This is what I do on Christmas day!

I live in Trieste and in December here there are a lot of lights and Christmas trees everywhere.

The 6^th of December there is a special ‘fiera’ for Saint Nicolo’ where you can buy a lot of sweet as: torrone, zucchero filato and of course chocolate.

For Christmas we have the same traditions of the other cities in Italy, we usually make the Christmas tree on the 8^th of December with my parents and also a small ‘presepe’, the night of 24^th December we have dinner with my parents, my grandma and my aunt. We’ll wait midnight and play some games together. We eat panettone and some traditional cakes of Trieste as ‘presnitz’. On Christmas day we have lunch again with all my family and in the afternoon we open the presents together.

On 31^st of December we’ll wait the end of the year with all my family playing games, listen to music and eat 😀

We love Christmas and in the square "Piazza Unità" around the end of November, the Christmas lights are already turned on with the various Christmas trees.

On Christmas,we go in "Piazza Unità" and we celebrate Christmas simply by going out with our parents or friends, and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere.

But speaking about eating, one of the most tipical food in Trieste is the cooked ham, it's a specialty, but the fish is never missing in Italy on Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

My family likes to do a family dinner the day before Christmas. All of our family members such as aunts and cousins, go to my grandma’s house, Becouse she cooks the best food.

Also, recently, there was San Nicolò, I don’t really know if you do this little tradition, but when it’s the 6th of December , we all give small gifts to each other, for example I got 100€ from my parents. They usually gave me toys and stuff, but now that I’ve grown up, they just give me money and let me buy anything I want with that money.

Oh I looove when it Christmas Day, and I get up early, just to open the presents, that feeling is the best. Also, when it Christmas, I like to play online with my brother and friend. Playing games while knowing it’s Christmas it’s the best. Obviously I spend time with my parents, we like to go out and spend time together, and buying stuff we will eventually not use, but it’s the thought that counts .

So, that’s how I spend Christmas, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Here we spend the Christmas like in the rest of the word, but before Christmas we have another holiday!

In class we saw a video of your big tree being lit up! very beautiful, we have it here too, a little less illuminated but we have it!

The thing that I prefer of the Christmas here in Trieste is that they put a ice skating rink, and am VERY good at it, im happy of the rink because here in Trieste we don't have an ice skating rink to do it as a sport or normally. So when it comes it's beautiful. This as the most things because the rest is a classic Christmas! That's it and merry Christmas ❤️✨

This dessert is typical of northern Italy.

The Gingerbread is made of cookie dough,cut and baked into approdate shapes to form construction.

The material is usually a crunchy ginger biscuit made of gingerbread know as pepparkakor.

Sometimes I eat it at Christmas but I rarely eat it at New Year’s Eve (don’t ask me why).It takes a bit of time to make and it also takes a bit of time to decorate it .

For example: the first time we made it we had everything the kitchen is messy.

Some Christmas traditions from Spain are The Three Wise Men. They are like Santa Klaus but come the night of the 5ºth of January. We cook a special sponge cake for them called roscón, with little surprises inside . I think you do this tradition in Italy too.

Another tradition is nougat, “turrón” as we call it in Spain. It's very typical in my region, Alicante, but a lot of countries enjoy nougat.

I was born in Trieste, but my mother is from Naples, a city famous in the world for this tradition.

In Christmas time there is in Naples an entire street dedicated to the "Presepe", San Gregorio Armeno.

In Italy we usually have dinner during the evening of the Christmas Eve. The dinner is based of fish. The tipycal sweets are the Pandoro and the Panettone. The Panettone can be done of candied fruit or chocolate, while the Pandoro is sprinkled of sugar on the top. The next day is Christmas, in the morning I open the presents under the Christmas tree, and then we do the Christmas lunch with all family. After the meal we play Tombola game, that is like Bingo.

-1 kg of 00 flours

-80 grams of sugar

- 150 grams of softened butter

-1 pinch of salt

-warm milk

-seed oil

-powered sugar to decorate

My grandmother makes them every year. She makes them very crunchy, but for me without the grappa. She even makes three or more giant plates.

my Christmas tradition is that during Christmas Eve me and my family go to my grandparent's house where we have a big dinner together.

At midnight we make a procession holding candles and walking throughout the house singing: "tu scendi dalle stelle", then the next morning, during the Christmas day, I eat panettone and open my gift. Then in the afternoon i play bingo with my family.

Dear Spanish friends,

I'm Christian and today I'd like to tell you about some Italian traditions for Christmas. On Christmas Day we usually meet our family and on Christmas Eve we eat fish. We also make a tree with presents for everyone of our family .On Christmas Day we open the presents and we have lunch together, usually meat dishes e desserts.

We also eat a typically dessert called Panettone . The Panettone is a soft baked dessert of Milanese origin, typically filled with raisins and candied fruit.

We also make a Nativity Scene (presepe) which is a reconstruction of the birth of Jesus, complete with figurines of the holy family .

It can be found in homes, churches and public squares across Italy, during the holiday seasons.

But the most important thing is the comet star in our square Piazza Unità because it"s very beautiful and bright. Usually the comet star is placed above the Nativity Scene.

All the people of Trieste go to see this star, symbol of light and hope.

Well , then we celebrate Christmas like this here .

today I'd like to tell you about our Christmas traditions.

For the holidays the whole city Is decorated, there are many Christmas trees and a Big Christmas Nativity scene in the Central Square Piazza Unità.

.There are also cute Christmas markets where you can buy some Christmas decorations, handmade crafts, delectable locale treats and presents. On the Christmas Eve we usually go to our gradma's house to celebrate with all the family .Christmas Eve dinner Is traditionally lighter with no meat and a lot a seafood,different types of fish- sword fish, tuna, salomon, octopus salad, spaghetti with clam sauce,ecc.We also eat many typical desserts like :

Panettone -a Christmas bread , cake of Milan, tall and rounded in shape.

Tronchetto this is traditional Christmas cake , composed of a roll a sponge cake, stuffed and covered with a cream made with chestnuts, mascarpone cheese, cream cocoa and brandy.

On Christmas day we go to the church and open presents.

So this are our Christmas tradition.

For our family it’s a period of great celebrations: on the 23rd my birthday, on the 24th Christmas Eve, on the 25th Christmas, on the 26th my dad's name day... and so on.

it's Christmas!!

On Christmas day I get up early because I want to see if there are gifts and open them. Sonetimes santa clous can't bring me the gifts that I ask him, but they are beautiful. For lunch my mum and me go to the house of my grandma; she cooks many good things. In january she will be 95 years old!!

I always spend the Christmas day with my family, especially with my grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Then we unwrap the gifts that Santa Claus left us under the Christmas tree, and when we do it I'm really happy because I receive new things to use.

my favourite food in this period is ginger bread and I like

to prepare it.

This is the recipe :

• 200g wheat flour

• 120g butter

• 100g sugar

• 50g corn starch

• 1 egg

• 1 tea spoon of ginger

• 1 tea spoon of cinnamon

• 1 pinch of nutmeg

• 2 cloves

  Mix all together .

  Put the ball in the fridge for 2/3 hours .
  Then flatten and make the shapes you prefer,cook in the oven at 180°c for 10 minutes.

This year I will celebrate Christmas in Casarsa with relatives on my mother's side, but I will go to Rome on New Year's Eve.

Now I will tell you about my traditions at Christmas and New Year.

Christmas morning I wake up and have breakfast, then I go, together with my parents, under the Christmas tree to unwrap the presents.

This year, however, it won't be like that: my parents and I will leave by car on December 23rd to go to Casarsa, so we will celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas there.

For Christmas lunch we will eat fondue: a large pot with boiling water inside and various types of nraw meat to be inserted with metal toothpicks and then immersed in water to cook them.

After eating we will play bingo, but a special one: everyone will have to bring some packaged gifts for both, three, four, five and bingo, so instead of money the winner will receive one or more gifts.

Later, of course, we will exchange real gifts and then we will play many different board games.

On New Year's Eve, however, we have a lot of traditions: we meet around 7p.m. at my paternal grandmother's house, all my uncles and cousins from Rome come, my grandmother prepares panzerotti, Bari focaccia and a lots of side dishes for dinner.

Once we've finished eating we clear the table and play some board games, different each time.

At midnight we go to the balcony, the magic candles are lit and the adults drink Champagne while we children/teenagers drink carbonated drinks.

After all this you go back home and eat cotechino (a type of meat) with lentils, 12 grapes each and you have to give a kiss (even on the cheek) under the mistletoe (a plant).

All these things must be done because they should bring good luck for the new year.

Ingredients

For the first dough (baking sheet):

150 g of Manitoba flour

75 g of water

15 g fresh yeast

25 g of sugar

For the second dough:

250 g of Manitoba flour

200 g butter (at room temperature)

100 g of sugar

3 eggs + 2 yolks

1 sachet of vanillin (or the seeds of 1 vanilla berry)

1 tablespoon of honey

1 pinch of salt

Grated lemon peel

30 ml of warm milk

For the finishing:

Powdered sugar

IT'S A SWEET DISH I EAT AT CHRISMAS,IT'S VERY GOOD. THE INGREDIENTS ARE : FOR THE BISCUIT DOUGH BASE YOU NEED 6 MEDIUM-SIZED EGG YOLKS, 3 MEDIUM-SIZED EGG WHITES, 160 GR OF SUGAR, 160 GR OF '00' FLOUR GRATED PEEL OF A LARGE LEMON, 3 SPOONS OF CASTORATED SUGAR TO SPREAD ON THE SURFACE AT THE END OF COOKING FOR FILLING AND DECORATING 300 GR OF LIQUID CREAM 450 GR OF CHOCOLATE (NO MATTER WHICH TYPE) 150 GR OF JAM 1 SPIRIT OF REDCURRANT 1 SPOON OF ICING SUGAR FRESH ROSEMARY . To be onest, I have to say that I don't really know Italian 's christmas tradictions... I'M SORRY, but I'm sure that all my friends does, check them out!

You will probably hate me for this but I do christmas tree on 23rd december

I KNOW, IT'S A SHAME

but it doesten't mean that we don't have the Christmas spirit, we definitely do!

We sing a lot of songs, we decorate all togheter, we laugh, everything it's happy❤️

Then on 24th and 25th we all eat togheter, 24th is fish day, 25th is meat day.

Even the New Year's Eve is so much fun, and we stay with our cousins all day

My favorite Christmas food is definetly the pandoro, I love that so much. If I could I would eat it every single day for the rest of my life. I hope you like it too

On Christmas Eve, families gather for a big dinner, and then they often go to church for the midnight mass. In some parts of Trieste, there is also a special tradition called “presepio vivente,” where people reenact the nativity scene. Afterward, we exchange gifts and enjoy spending time with loved ones.

I don't like dessert very much, so i don't have a favorite Christmas dessert, but there is one that my grandad used to make and now is a family tradition.

The ingredients are:

• 100 g butter

• 7 Mars bars

• 250 g puffed rice

  
  

Method:

Melt the Mars bars with the butter, turn off the heat and add the puffed rice and mix well with a spoon before it gets cold. Put the mix in a container, let cool and cut into pieces before eating.

Curry rice (rice with chicken), i love this food and It Is eaten a lot in my family. Ingredients: rice, chicken, oil, onion, chili, salt, tomato sauce and curry pouder.

I usually go to my grandparents at Christmas but my favorite tradition is making Christmas cookies with my mother and my little sister.
here is the recipe:
230 g of butter 
320 g of 00 flour
100 g of sugar 
2 eggs
and a little more salt

At the Christmas day I get up early, I have breakfast and then I go to open all the present under the tree whit my parents and my sister.

This year my ant and my grandmother are coming to the Sicily. After the presents, I and my grandmother make biscuit with choccolate.

This is the recipe:

600g di of flour

3 eggs

80 l of milk

180g sugar and choccolate.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

The Ingredients are:

• flour

• milk

• fresch yeast

• sugar

• eggs

• unsalted butter

• salt

• camilla extract

1. Pour the warm milk over the fresh yeast.

2. Use whisk to dissolve it complitely.

3. Put one tablespoon of sugar and one yellow of the eggs.

4. Combine.

5. Put 50 gr. of flour and combine to from a soft dough.

6. Cover with a cloth and remove it when the dough has doubled in volume.

7. Put other 3 gr. of fresh yeast with 3 tablespoons of milk, 100 gr. of sugar and one whole egg.

8. Pour these ingredients over the dough.

9. Put 200 gr. of four, 30 gr. of butter and combine.

10. Cover again with a cloth for 1 hour.

11. Then put 200 gr. of flour, two whole eggs, 25 gr. of sugar, salt and the vanilla extract.

12. Leave it covered whit a cloth.

13. When doubled in volume put in the fridge overnight.

14. The next day roll it out to from square and spread it whit the butter .

15. Fold the four corners to the centre and roll it out severl times.

16. Shape the pastry into a boll.

17. Put it in a Pandoro cake tin with oil.

18. Cover with a cloth.

19. When the dough has reached the top of the tin rerrare the cloth.

20. Bake it for 15 minuts to 170 c.

21. Reduce the heat to 160 c and bake it for other 30 minuts.

22. Remove from the oven, release from the tin and leave to cool.

At the Christmas Day I get up at 8 o’clock, I wait for my parents to wake up ,and then go open the presents .

How do you usually spend Christmas Eve? I will be with my family, mum, dad, my brother and this year also my granny will be with us. She is 90 years old and she is a bit mad. She taught me a lot of things, especially about the world war II. That's why I love History.

At Christmas Eve we'll have a special dinner with a lot of food and sweets.

And then i go to have Christmas lunch with friends of my parents,uncles and friends. The thing i like about lunch is the lasagna made by my mom and for dessert i like pandoro.

Christmas is my favorite holiday.

Ilove decorating the my house and putting up the tree, think that this year I already did it at the end of October!.

I literally forsed my parents to do it,ahahahah.

Here in Trieste you can really feel the Christmas atmosphere,between lights,decorations in the shops and markets with traditional foods.

For us italians ,tomorrow, 20/12/2024, will be the last day of school.

After school my friends and I will go ice skating, on a rink that they set up especially for the occasion.

On Christmas eve I will go to have dinner at my paternal grandparents' house with my father annd my brother,Simone, while on Christmas Day I will go to have lunch at my maternal grandparents' house, where my whole family will gather.

In the morning , waiting for Christmas night, Ilike to eat gingerbread men.

Preparing them is quite easy ,in fact I think I'll invite my best friend to my house to prepare them together.

Since I love reading Dark Romance books but I never have time because of studying , I'll take advantage of these ramblings to do so.

That said, I say goodbye.

Here in Trieste we also decore the city, theres christmas tree everywere in the city!

I spend my xmas eve with my family, my uncles, my granpas, my cousins and my brothers.

we eat usually the "pasticcio" and for second plate meetballs or something else, then at the 12 pm we open all our gifts.

I love christmas and all my family love it too.

Then when its xmas day we celebrate with my father part of family and we lunch all toghether.

At Christmas, I usually celebrate with my family. It’s my favorite time of the year because there’s a unique atmosphere: the house is decorated with lights, the tree is full of ornaments, and there’s a festive feeling everywhere.

The night of the 24th is the most special moment for me. We usually gather together, have dinner, and spend time chatting and laughing. Then comes the part I look forward to the most: opening the presents! It’s a tradition I love because it’s not just about the gift itself, but the thought behind it and the smiles of those who receive them.

The ingredients are:

•350g 00flour

•160g sugar

•110g cold butter from the fridge

•50g honey

•1 eggs

•5g Ginger powder

•5g cinnamon powder

•1 pinch ground cloves

•1 nutmeg

•1/4 teaspoon baking soda

•1 pinch Salt

Preparation:

1. Pour the ground cloves, ground cinnamon, traded nutmeg and ground Ginger into the mixer and also add 1/4teaspoon of bicarbonate

2. Add the granulated sugar, a pinch of Salt and the honey.

3. Finally, pour the cold butter cut into cubes from the fridge, blend the mixture intermittently so as not to overheat the mixture until it obtains a sandy consistency. Pour the mixture onto the work surface and form the classic fountain.

4. Pour the egg into the center and incorporate it into the mixture first with a fork and then with your hands. Mix quickly.

5. Once the dough has taken consistency, form a flat loaf and cover it with transparent film. Place the dough in the refrigerator to harden for at least 30 minutes. Once the resting time has elapsed, take the dough and roll it out with a rolling pin on a floured pastry board to a thickness of approximately 7 mm 15.

6. Cut out the pastry with your favorite Christmas cutters, we chose the classic gingerbread men. If you want, at this stage you can pierce the biscuits at the height of the little men's heads to pass a ribbon through and hang them on the tree. With the indicated doses you will obtain approximately 15 biscuits (depending on the type of shapes used and the size the number may vary). You can quickly knead the scraps and, after letting the dough rest again, cut them out to make other biscuits. Transfer the biscuits onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and cook the biscuits in a static oven preheated to 170° for around 15 minutes: the times are indicative as each oven has a different power, it is therefore advisable to test with a couple of pieces to make sure that cooking in your oven is optimal. Once cooked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool completely, preferably on a wire rack.
