Guilds took care of many things such as taking care of public complaints, protecting all the guild masters, and paid for construction of guild halls and festivals. <br>3.People in the guilds take on apprentices that work with them and rarely get paid.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Guilds <br>- Trade and the production of goods were overseen by organizations called guilds<br>- The two types of guilds were merchant guilds and craft guilds<br>- All crafts people had their own guilds<br>- Guilds controlled the work (set prices, dealt with complaints, punished certain craftsmen)<br>- Members of a guild paid dues to their guild<br>- To become a member of a guild, you had to undergo several years of training as an apprentice, and you had to start early<br>- At the end of an apprentice's training, they had to prove to the guild that they have mastered their trade.  They had to produce a "master piece" that they gave to the guild for approval<br>- After an apprentice has been approved, they either became a journeyman (found work by the day) or set up a business of their own, depending on how much money they owned.<br><br></div>]]></description>
