I appreciated this video a lot and I have actually implemented a few of these tips into my academic career. The first tip Thomas introduces is to establish positive momentum during your first week of school. I did this by sitting up front in all of my classes and making sure I was engaged in every class. Another tip he mentions is to have a plan when and where you are going to study. For me, I like to study in the Union Station lounge in between classes, and I also have a desk in my bedroom. While I found that I have implemented many of these tips already, there is always room for improvement.

This video may be one that is overlooked but, in truth, it is very important to staying highly motivated. Once again, Thomas provides the viewer with great advice. Personally, I believe that I should implement these tips into my morning routine as well. The first tip he mentions is to never press the snooze button, which is something that I do constantly. However, the main message I got out of this video is to get out of your comfort zone. Almost nothing about getting up early in the morning is comfortable, so I should just learn to embrace it and go on about my routine.

This video is an important message of reassurance. Thomas reminds the viewer that there are going to be several successes and failures in one's lifetime. Many people overreact to failure without acknowledging that they can use it as an opportunity to become a better version of themselves. Failure is only part of the journey, but it is important to know how to get out of it. My favorite tip that Thomas provided is to develop an improved plan following failure. This reminds the reader that they are strong and smart enough to reshape their train of thought so that they can prevent failure the second time around.

I chose this article because it expanded off of Thomas Frank's video on how to stay motivated throughout the semester. I like that the article included to create a social support network consisting of friends, teachers, counselors, etcetera.
