Der Vogel warf 23.000 Dominosteine um und konnte nicht mal von einer für Tierfang spezialisierten Gruppe binnen einer Stunde gefangen werden. Daraufhin wurde der Vogel von einem Jäger erschossen. Eine niederländische Tierschutzorganisation schaltete daraufhin die Polizei ein. Der Jäger musste 200 Euro Strafe zahlen, da die Vogelart eine in den Niederlanden geschützte Vogelart ist. Der Spatz wurde später konserviert und im Rotterdamer Naturkundemuseum auf einer Schachtel Domino Steine als Teil einer Ausstellung über den Haussperling ausgestellt. Er habe sich dabei als Publikumsmagnet erwiesen.
                       

Anmerkung:
Wenn die Wortkombination „Vogel Domino-Day“ in der google Suche eingegeben wird, stößt man auf viele Texte über den Spatz. Je nachdem, wer die Artikel schrieb, ist dabei allerdings die Bewertung der Tötung des Spatzes sehr unterschiedlich. Guckt gerne selbst einmal nach und vergleicht.
