Module 3 Activity, Padlet Part 1

"Making Memories of Us" is a song that I have been in love with since 2009 when I first heard it. When I heard this song playing on the radio I remember thinking that it would make a great wedding song someday because the words were so sweet and sincere. On January 4th, 2014, "Making Memories of Us" played while my groom and I shared our first dance as husband and wife! This song now has a new significance to me as I reminisce about the sweet words my husband whispered in my ears as we shared our time dancing to the song I've always wanted to play on my wedding day.

Module 7 Activity, Padlet Part 2

Beat: The beat is fairly easy to identify in this song as it matches the sound of the drum. The beat remains consistent throughout the song and I found myself tapping my foot to the beat of the music almost as soon as the song started.

Tempo: The tempo maintained a fairly steady andante pace throughout the song but speeds up at the chorus and the ending of the musical piece.

Metre: I believe that Making Memories of Us consists of a 4/4 meter as there aren't any particular accents on certain notes.

Rhythm: I found it difficult to identify the rhythmic pattern of the song as I found myself drawn to keep the rhythm of the instruments and not necessarily the words. The rhythm is fairly consistent until the chorus and then it changes.

Module 15 Activity, Padlet Part 3

Timbre: There are a lot of beautiful instruments played in this piece of music. In certain parts of the song I can identify different instruments being played, ranging from the acoustic guitar, the electric guitar, drums, and even the violin and piano. The slight changes in timbre create a beautiful and peaceful sound.

Harmony: The musical notes in this song produce a very peaceful and relaxing mood. All of the different instruments played blend well together and accent each other nicely. Only one artist is singing, so therefore this song is monophonic and therefore it is really easy to sing along with and hear the different tones in Keith Urban's voice.
