If you can explain it to someone else, you really get it! I use collaborative study groups to work on math problems, test reviews, or to go over homework. Students always share with their shoulder partner their thoughts on each thing we are learning. We use Kagan strategies to work through problems.  It is important for each child to have an opportunity to give input.
