Though, the Romans had a deity of their own gods, they did help spread the belief of Christianity. They did this by letting Jesus spread his teachings, and then crucifying him, and he comes back from the dead, and spreads his religions with other Christian emperors and making it the official religion of Rome. Once Rome disbanded, the people who ran created Christian kingdoms. These kingdoms spread the belief of Christianity. This affected the United States by making the most practiced religion not only in the U.S., but throughout the whole world.

The Roman government had to Consuls who were the highest positions in the government. They ruled the Roman republic. These consuls were elected by the Senate. The senate composed of patricians who were the more wealthy and higher class people. At the start the Plebeians, the lower class or poor people, had almost no say in the government. But that would change later on, when the Plebs mounted various boycotts and rebellions against the Patricians, until the Patricians met to their terms. Tribunes were plebeians who protected the rights and interests of the plebeians. The Tribunes were able to bring the plebeian peoples’ opinions to the table of the government. If the Plebs didn’t mount boycotts and rebellions, they would have never had their voices heard at the table of the government.

The Roman architecture is one of the biggest things that affected the United States. The columns made in front of buildings, the arches in bridges, and the dome of structures, such as the Pantheon. This shows the Pantheon. The Pantheon has a dome structure that the Romans built.

The Roman art was also a mix of Greek art. This kind of art was called Grekko-Roman. This kind of art consisted of sculptures, pottery, and even murals. Examples of grekko-roman art is like the James Brown mural in downtown Cincinnati, Pantheon, and the Lincoln memorial.

The Pantheon was a Roman temple. It is now a church located in Rome, Italy. Some reasons we decided to build the Pantheon was because the temple uses the a lot of Roman architecture strategies like the dome located in the back of the temple. The temple also had Grekko-Roman art included in the building. The Pantheon was built on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus.

How Rome Influenced the United States

The Romans have given us many things ranging from styles of architecture to all types of arts. The Romans showed the world all kinds of different types of architecture. The arch which is used in the Colosseum. The dome is used in the Pantheon but in the United States you can see that it is used in the capital building. The Romans played a big role in religion. Constantine legalized Christianity which spread around the world when Rome was destroyed. This then spread to the United States. If Constantine did not legalize Christianity there is a chance that people in the United States would not be practicing Christianity today.
